A memorable Flashback! PATS project funded by UNICEF & Plan International Proper hand washing is one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs and illness. Here’s why it’s a big deal in schools: Regular hand washing can reduce the likelihood of colds, flu, and other infections making their rounds in classrooms. Teaching kids to wash their hands properly sets them up with a lifelong skill that contributes to their overall health. By making hand washing a priority, we create a cleaner and safer environment for students and staff alike. Let’s make sure our kids know the five key steps to effective hand washing: 1. Wet hands with clean, running water. 2. Apply soap and lather well. 3. Scrub all parts of the hands for at least 20 seconds. 4. Rinse thoroughly under clean, running water. 5. Dry hands with a clean towel or air dry. Let’s all commit to reinforcing these habits at home and in school. A little bit of soap and water can go a long way in keeping our community healthy! #HandWashing #HealthySchools #StaySafe #SchoolHealth
