"When Does PT Really End? Insights from Dr. Sandmeier" “How do I know when I’m done with physical therapy?” Dr. Sandmeier addresses this common question, shedding light on a crucial gap in traditional rehab—the transition from PT to full recovery. The truth is, you’re never truly “done” with exercise. PT is just one phase of your recovery journey. 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗧𝗙𝗟 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗿🦵🏼💥 Why? Because I didn’t practice what I preach. I ran 30k in my first week of marathon training, at a <4:30/km pace. Fitness felt good. Tendons did not…I should have eased my body in. However, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 🌤️ I’ve seen countless athletes benefit from Hytro during their rehab, and now 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘆𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 🤝 — Here is my rehab 50hrs in 👇🏻 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝟰𝟴𝗵𝗿𝘀: 😴 REST ❄️ ICE 🧦 COMPRESS 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝟱𝟬𝗵𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗜’𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗙𝗥 to stimulate recovery hormones and offset losses in strength and size. This will involve: ✅ 2 x sessions per day (morning and evening) ✅ 3 x 5 min rounds of passive BFR, 2 mins rest between rounds. And the best bit? All performed while sat at my desk working, or having some food. So easy and so efficient, without limitations like plugging into mains electric, wires, apps, charging etc. — If you or anyone you know is currently undergoing rehab, send them this post and keep an eye on my page to see the journey back to fitness using BFR 👌🏼 #rehab #bfr #recovery #recoverybfr #tendon #injury #repair #sportsscience #muscle #physiology #physio #hytrobfr

On April 28th, we will be running a sacred medicine journey to begin the process of freeing the heart gently but deeply 💖 What does it feel like to be in sacred medicine: Arrive deeply into the body 🧘♂️ Very present in the body and the body shows you what 🌟 Heighten the senses and feel your own emotions very deeply - the things you have buried as a defense mechanism can finally be seen, faced and released 🌊 Very gentle medicine - gentle doesn’t mean it’s not potent 🌱 Because of the EESystem - you feel safe because of the team of healers surrounding you. We will have four facilitators guiding, supporting, and holding space. Each one of the healers is trauma-informed, which is extremely important for holding space in such deep, profound, life-transforming work. They have been trained for several years, and their training is trauma-informed. They help navigate people if deep traumas surface and need to be seen in the safest and most healing way possible 🙏 So if this is something you are aspiring to do, I invite you to the sacred medicine journey on April 28th 2024: Full Immersive Journey - 10 hours in the EESystem where we stack the scalar frequencies, the sacred medicine and sound medicine. Sound itself is a powerful force to move trauma and help move stuck energies. In the last journey that we ran on Feb 25th - participants were able to travel on the sound with the medicine to heal very deeply. The scalar frequencies create a deep sense of safety that allows people to journey deeply 🎶 If you are curious or interested or feel called to this journey- then click on the calendar https://bit.ly/3xxwMlq and book a 15 minute call with me to have a chat about this journey. #ScalarFrequencies #EnergyEnhancement #HealingJourney

Okrzymowska et al. (2024) conclude: “Implementing inspiratory muscle training at 50% of maximum inspiratory pressure load has shown significant improvements in the respiratory muscle strength of disabled swimmers. Higher-intensity IMT effectively enhanced their training performance and physiological metrics, highlighting the importance of incorporating this approach into standard training programs for disabled swimmers.” (Okrzymowska et al.,2024, p.1) Okrzymowska, P., Seidel, W., & Rozek-Piechura, K. The cost of inaction… I was recently thinking about the cost of inaction after getting done with Physical Therapy the other day. You see I had the bright idea at the beginning of spring to run sprints in the field in the park within our neighborhood. Only thing wrong with that was I decided to run two more 40 yard dashes each time I went. I was 3-4 weeks in going 2-3 times a week. One day at the end I decided to sprint the entire length of the field. I heard a pop and I ended up tearing my hamstring. So like a “super smart person” I decided to not do anything with it for 3 months and periodically test to see if it was healed by pushing the limits of what I was able to do on it lol. It didn’t get better and I gained 10-15 lbs because I hadn’t been as active as I normally am. Nutrition could also have been better. Since it hadn’t gotten any better I decided to go to physical therapy and guess what after only a few sessions I’m already significantly improved. I share this story with all of you because my inaction cost me a lot of the things that I love doing. If I would have went to PT right away I would have been able to recover a lot faster and would likely have been biking and doing other activities sooner. When you think about the problems you have in your life or business think about what the cost of inaction will be if you don’t fix it sooner rather than later.
