“Did you know that every architecture project is a healthcare project?” Absolutely true. The power of the built environment to affect health and wellness every moment of the day (ok ok, the 90% of the day we spend indoors on average), at scale, is massive. This is healthcare, individual health, community health. public health, every kind of health. Let’s work toward this being the dominant paradigm in architecture.

Physician | Healthcare/Medical Education Space Design | Speaker | AKA

As an emergency medicine physician, I've seen firsthand the impact of reactive healthcare on vulnerable patients. Unfortunately, by the time many patients seek treatment, it's often too late to make significant interventions. Architects and designers can play a crucial role in shifting outcomes in community health. Did you know that every architectural project is a healthcare project? These professionals are well-positioned to drive change in preventative healthcare across sectors. I'm excited about the work we're doing to advance greater access to our communities and improve health outcomes through the built environment. It was an honor to sit with my colleagues at Perkins&Will and talk about Social Determinants of Health and the connection to architecture and design. #Healthcare #Architecture #Design #Prevention
