This wind farm not only achieves harmony between humans and nature but also leads the way in digital intelligence. "The stable operation of the wind farm relies on the advanced digital platform behind it," said Qiao Lei, the director of the video. 😊 Qiao Lei majored in Spanish and Communication Management in college. After graduating, she officially joined SANY Renewable Energy, entering the wind power industry and embarking on her journey at Huilongxu Wind Farm. Maharani Energy Gateway (MEG) will establish an energy hub and deep-sea port by constructing three man-made islands spanning 1,295 hectares, creating over 45,000 job opportunities. The investment is facilitated by two Framework Cooperation Agreements between MEG and CEIG, a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corp Ltd. CEIG's investment in the Muar Free Trade Zone will include developing Malaysia's largest combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant, along with green hydrogen and green ammonia plants. MEG and CEIG's facilities at Maharani Energy Gateway will complement Johor's oil and gas industries and position Malaysia as a regional energy and eco-hub. The CCGT plant will use renewable energy sources like solar and wind to produce Malaysia's largest hydrogen output, generating electricity for the national grid and neighboring countries. This investment is expected to attract more foreign companies to Johor, enhancing the region's investment climate and economic growth. I came across a gas handling facility while interning at the Shell Petroleum Development Company, and ever since then, I’ve been eager to uncover the intricate details of its operations—the nitty-gritty that makes it all work seamlessly. And boom! Society of Petroleum Engineers International came to the rescue. This past weekend, the SPE FUTA Chapter and SPE University of Lagos Student Chapter embarked on an insightful field trip to the OML 111 flow station at Ologbo in Edo State. This state-of-the-art facility houses the Integrated Gas Handling Facility (IGHF), a landmark project commissioned by President Buhari in 2020. The experience was nothing short of transformative and enlightening. We delved into the mechanics of upstream operations, engaged with seasoned professionals, and gained firsthand insights that would prove useful in tackling the energy trilemma. The guidance from Mr. Ovie Onobrakpeya, Manoah E Akanmu, Sodiq Adejuwon Kehinde, Stephen OBOH and the entire community made the learning journey truly enriching. A special highlight was the fireside chat with the brilliant YP Secretary, Dr Chukwu Emeke MSc ,MBA, PhD( Pst, Mnse, FIMC, COREN), whose insights and fatherly teachings were a call to action to "be more" and engage problems from a perspective of solvency. Immense gratitude to SPE Lagos Section 61 for facilitating this remarkable opportunity. Experiences like these reinforce my commitment to exploring innovative solutions that bridge traditional energy practices with sustainable goals: still resolving #SDG7 As I continue my journey in the energy sector, I am actively seeking internship opportunities to further expand my knowledge and skills. Additionally, I am eager to pitch my venture, Greena Energies, to potential investors who are passionate about advancing renewable and sustainable energy solutions. During my tenure as the Manager of Education and Training at the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI), I had the privilege of leading initiatives that addressed the critical need for reskilling and upskilling in Indonesia’s burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) battery industry. Leveraging Indonesia’s rich nickel reserves, NBRI has been at the forefront of enhancing workforce readiness, aligning with global trends in sustainable energy and green jobs. One of my roles focused on designing and implementing (end to end) targeted skills development programs that equipped professionals with the necessary competencies to thrive in this dynamic sector. Our efforts at NBRI were instrumental in creating a robust talent pipeline, ensuring that Indonesia remains competitive on the global stage. Through a combination of quantitative data analysis and qualitative insights from industry stakeholders, we identified key challenges and opportunities within the sector. While continuous upskilling and technological adoption remain ongoing needs, our collaboration with academia and industry has fostered innovation and sustainability in battery technology. I am proud to have contributed to NBRI’s mission of positioning Indonesia as a leader in the global EV battery market, and I remain committed to advancing education and training to meet the evolving demands of this industry. That’s why I’ve embarked on an exciting journey to learn about Carbon Capture Storage Utilization (CCUS). This innovative technology is transforming the energy sector, offering sustainable solutions to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate climate change. Thank you Oil & Gas Meta for this opportunity. Some notable CCUS projects that inspire me include: Sleipner Project in Norway: The world's first offshore CCS project, capturing and storing over 1 million tonnes of CO2 annually since 1996. Quest CCS Project in Canada: A pioneering project by Shell that has successfully captured and stored over 5 million tonnes of CO2 since its inception in 2015. Gorgon CO2 Injection Project in Australia: One of the largest CCS projects globally, aiming to capture up to 4 million tonnes of CO2 per year. Kasawari Project in Malaysia: An ambitious project by Petronas, set to be one of the largest offshore CCS projects in the world, targeting significant reductions in CO2 emissions from the Kasawari gas field. These projects exemplify the impact and potential of CCUS in creating a sustainable energy future. By diving into this field, I’m not only expanding my technical expertise but also demonstrating my commitment to innovation and sustainability.
