We have immediate openings for Machinists on our night shift (6:00pm to 2:00am). No experience is required. We will train! These are hourly positions reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various machines to meet goals and objectives. During a recent outage this fall, a Midwestern steel mill customer of ours upgraded their stand 4 drive train at the hot strip mill. This included a new 8,400 kW motor, a new torque tube, a larger pinion stand, and the necessary concrete work. Xtek played a crucial role in this upgrade by analyzing the drive train, calculating load capacities, and recommending moving the larger pinion stand from F1 to F4. We designed and manufactured the hybrid torque tube, flex couplings, and all components to secure the larger pinion stand to the floor. Over the past two years, Xtek collaborated with motor, structural engineering, and foundation companies, along with mill personnel to organize the project. The installation went smoothly and all parts fit as designed. This success was due to the dedication and experience of both mill personnel and Xtek employees.

This month, Xtek was proud to participate in the IMTS - International Manufacturing Technology Show, held in Chicago, IL, September 9 -14. This year’s show was attended by almost 90,000 people, including over 14,000 students. Xtek partnered with Shibaura Machine, one of over 1,700 exhibitors at the show. The Shibaura display allowed attendees to see some of the size and capabilities of parts that these machines are able to produce. On September 11th, the Xtek team enjoyed our 9th annual block party event focused on some well-deserved fun and relaxation! To celebrate, we had a variety of food trucks, a DJ on site, and several games that gave employees the opportunity to win vacation days, restaurant gift cards, and Xtek logo apparel. It also provided a time to recognize the service milestones of Xtek’s 2024 honorees. Our block parties are a way to give back to every member of our hard-working team and we were thrilled to honor their contributions with this fun-filled celebration.

Xtek has immediate openings for Maintenance Technicians on both day and night shifts! These are hourly positions reporting to the Operations Support Manager. Positions are focused on maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities and assisting other technicians with equipment repair. Recently, Xtek was tasked with evaluating and refurbishing equipment from two regional steel mill customers that had seen extensive use. One instance involved a gearbox assembly that required not only a standard evaluation and refurbishment but also an upgrade to its lubrication system to better handle the heat it experiences while in operation on a crane. Another instance involved two end trucks that were in poor condition and necessitated a complete overhaul. We’re proud to say that all work was completed in-house, as Xtek is a turnkey operation with extensive heat-treatment, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities. Last month, Xtek employees gathered to celebrate the return of Cool Cars Day, an event where employees show off their own “cool cars” at Xtek’s very own car show. The weather was perfect, and the cars were - in fact - cool. Thanks to our Cool Cars Day committee, there were 31 cars in Xtek’s south lot for employees to view during lunch and cast their votes for the Best of Show. It was a challenge to pick a favorite since we had a wide variety of cars – from a 1928 Ford Model A Special Couple to a 2024 Volkswagen Golf R. The first place honors went to a 1964 Shelby Cobra, second place went to a 1960 MG MGA, and last but not least, third place went to a 2010 Shelby Cobra Mustang. It was certainly a day to remember, and we can't wait for next year's Cool Cars Day!

Mark your calendars! On Saturday, May 18th, plan to come to our manufacturing plant at 11451 Reading Road in Sharonville, Ohio from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for a job fair! We'll have open interviews that day for night shift Machinists, Mechanics, and Grinders, with no prior experience required for the positions. All you need to do is bring yourself and we'd be more than happy to talk to you about the positions we have available.
