I despise all the admin around running a family. So I try to be smarter about how I do it, just like I would for a business. A few things that have worked for me and my family this year: ✨ 1. No guilt over not cooking. We like to eat healthy, but I resent spending precious time in the kitchen. This year we ordered pre-made meals from CookUnity most weeks: https://lnkd.in/enQHM5ft We live in a small town, so there's no easy, healthy takeout nearby. This is the next best thing. Way easier than meal kits that require lots of prep, though we still have to make food for the kids. ✨ 2. Lean on a family VA. We work with an assistant from Sundays: withsundays.com She does a lot of the home tasks that add up, like... + Finding doctors + Scheduling appointments + Researching options for everything This saves us hours. Once the research is done, it's usually quick for us to actually make a decision and do the thing. ✨ 3. Organize all our household admin in ClickUp. This is the same PM tool I use for work. My husband and I assign ourselves to tasks so we can see who's responsible for each one. We also meet regularly to review what's in our queue. The added visibility here is brilliant for keeping us on the same page about expectations. ✨ 4. Order most of our food online. My biggest time saver. Instead of going to the grocery store, we order online from Aldi at least once/week. We lean heavily on "buy again" section so it's quick to order. Then get it delivered through Instacart. Doing most of our grocery shopping this way also keeps our costs down, since Aldi is the most affordable option near us. ✨ 5. Babysitter every Sunday for 3 hours. Husband & I prep for work week and/or spend quality time. About 30% of Sundays, we're away or the babysitter is away so it doesn't happen. But having that default slot on our calendar means I don't have to try to find a sitter every week. ✨ 6. Family finances all automated. Yes, auto bill pay. But this is more than that. We use Tiller to pull in everything & automatically create summaries of spending. Once/month, we easily review & adjust. ✨ 7. Keep a small stash of kids birthday presents in our storage closet. Whenever there's a birthday party, we don't have to order a present or pick one up. Instead, we pick from the stash. As our kids have gotten older, we also have a pile of gift cards for the local bookstore. ✨ Reducing time spent on family admin helps me put more hours toward what I enjoy, like building They Got Acquired and getting outside with my family. Got any other ideas I should consider? What works for your family? Pictured: My boys a few years ago. Love those curls 💙 *** I'm Alexis Grant, founder of They Got Acquired. Vice President of Product, Engagement Experience - Peacock

I just started working with Ashley Chang and Sundays and couldn't be happier about the decision. Honestly, I've been telling anyone and everyone I can about getting help at home. Is there a little guilt about having to say "I can't manage it all"? Yes, for sure. But ultimately that doesn't outweigh my desire to re-claim my time and sanity. We're about a week in and already humming with momentum ► Renew passport = Done ✅  ► Schedule long put-off doctor's appointments = Done ✅  ► Plan a February family trip = Underway ► Source full-day summer camps for 2025 = Kicking off In the words of cheesy Instagram posts, if you are a working parent struggling to keep your head above water consider this your sign to raise your hand and ask for help 🙋♀️

5 hours a day For parents who work 9-5 (and sleep), there are 5 hours to: 1. Play with your kids 2. Cook dinner 3. Do the dishes 4. Clean up the house 5. Get some time outside 6. Exercise 7. Get kids to bed 8. Tidy the house 9. Plan your vacation 10. Put in the extra time on that big work project 11. Find that in-network ENT for your son 12. Coordinate your house project 13. Try to plan a date night 14. Relax? No wonder every day feels like a race 🏃♀️ The only ways to get more time: 🔹 Do less 🔹 Somehow do it faster 🔹 Get someone else to do it (👋) — I’m Ashley Chang ,co-founder of Sundays an executive assistant service for working parents.
