A Huge Shoutout to Headstream Innovation (and Why Schools Should Check This Out). This year, we’ve been part of something pretty amazing: the Headstream residency program. It’s been a chance to dig deep, collaborate with some seriously 🧠 smart people, and learn from youth about what they need Welfie to be so they can be successful. Headstream just dropped something super useful for #schools and #districts: the K12 Mental Health Tech Navigator. 🧭 If you work in education and have ever felt overwhelmed by all the mental health tools and tech out there (seriously, who hasn’t?), this resource is for you. The Tech Navigator makes life easier for schools and districts by helping them find and adopt the right mental health solutions. It’s practical, easy to use, and totally focused on the challenges schools face every day. Welfie is not in this edition because we hadn’t yet launched when they compiled this a year ago; however, we hope to be in the next issue. Check out Headstream’s K12 Mental Health Tech Navigator. 🌟 https://lnkd.in/gNAiMP6d 🌟 While you’re at it, you might want to Join their next webinar to learn more about the Tech Navigator and other great resources. 🌟 Here is the registration link: http://bit.ly/3Od2slm 🌟 We’re so grateful to Headstream for being such a powerhouse of ideas and support—not just for us but for schools, districts, and anyone trying to make things better for young people. Check them out, share their tools, and let us know what you think.. 🌊 #MentalHealthMatters #Headstream #EdTechForSchools

About us
𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐔𝐬 Leaders of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) struggle with: ♦Finding stable, predictable funding ♦Engaging communities for better health outcomes ♦Attracting and retaining work Community Health Workers (CHWs) on the frontlines often burn out, with a churn rate as high as 77% every two years. Welfie’s software equips CBO leaders with tools for CHWs to effectively manage and engage families. It offers expert-vetted, culturally responsive resources co-created with the communities they serve, leading to better outcomes and job satisfaction. Our software also enables direct Medicaid billing, easing the funding burden and freeing leaders for more critical work. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 We believe a child with a sense of agency is a powerful force for community health improvement. Our tools help CHWs track and engage families around their health, providing materials that truly resonate. We also involve young people in creating and sharing health and mental health resources, addressing immediate needs while fostering leadership, ownership, and trust within the community. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 ♦Enhanced CHW Support: Our software helps CHWs manage their work with families and share culturally responsive resources. ♦Youth Engagement: We engage youth around their health and mental health, leveraging their insights to lead health conversations and co-create impactful resources. ♦Expert-Vetted Content: All resources are rigorously vetted by health and mental health experts. ♦Billing Support: We help CBOs secure stable funding by assisting CHWs with Medicaid billing. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 Welfie strengthens CBO collaborations with schools, hospitals, and other community organizations. By focusing on mental health first, we lay the groundwork for broader community health improvements. Our initiatives empower youth to lead mental health efforts in their communities, fostering a healthier, more resilient population. 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 Schedule a call

Middle school is tough -- especially if you're a werewolf. Talk about a hairy situation!!!! #supportforstudents #k12mentalhealth #middleschool #edchat #classroom
You know, one of the best ways for #educators to reach #youth about important things like #mentalhealth? Through things they already care about. Observational days are ok, but tying it to everyday things and occasions that matter to them helps normalize discussions and can even make it fun. Wanna try? Share this video about a werewolf struggling to fit in while navigating his own fears and challenges. He opens the door for students to talk about their own emotions. But you don’t have to stop there—Halloween offers endless opportunities for educators to create their mental health activities that connect with students. Here are a few ideas to bring Halloween and mental health together in your classroom: Fear in Focus: Use Halloween-themed characters to talk about common fears—whether it's fear of change, failure, or the unknown. Ask students how they might face these fears like a brave character would. Creative Storytelling: Encourage students to write their own spooky stories with characters who overcome challenges like anxiety or stress. It’s a great way to talk about problem-solving and resilience. Emotion Masks: Have students create masks that reflect different emotions—maybe a “brave werewolf” mask or a “confident vampire.” This can lead to discussions about how they might embody those traits in real life. Classroom Brainstorm: Let students help create Halloween-themed characters that face their own unique emotional challenges. You could explore how these characters would handle feelings like loneliness, anger, or fear in a healthy way. Halloween is a time to get creative and have fun—why not use it to help students better understand themselves and each other? Bonus tip: Share our Werewolf video for inspiration and let your students take it from there! Link to the video is in the comments! #teachers #k12 #MentalHealthinSchools
