The Chronic Pancreatitis and Autologous Islet Cell Transplant Program at UNC Health recently completed its 100th life-changing case. Paul Freeman, a 32-year-old from Wilkesboro, NC, is recovering from necrotizing pancreatitis, a severe, inflammatory condition that causes parts of the pancreas to die. Teammates were encouraged to take inspirational stickers, bracelets, or keychains and given an opportunity to take gratitude cards to send to coworkers.
