The Chronic Pancreatitis and Autologous Islet Cell Transplant Program at UNC Health recently completed its 100th life-changing case. Paul Freeman, a 32-year-old from Wilkesboro, NC, is recovering from necrotizing pancreatitis, a severe, inflammatory condition that causes parts of the pancreas to die.
