Imagine your customer funnel not as the classic upside-down triangle but as a martini glass—fragile, elegant, and precarious. The martini glass is beautiful, but it’s also fragile. Understanding your customer funnel in this shape can help you spot where it’s likely to break and where you can support it for growth.

Band of Coders and Toolbox No. 9 brought together some of our Atlanta-based agency friends together for a dinner to talk about the upcoming opportunities and challenges facing agency leaders.
One of the best parts of starting an agency in Atlanta is the community of people who are there to support you. I started Toolbox No. 9 almost 20 years ago and in that time I've met hundreds of business owners and leaders who have given me time, advice, and inspiration. Last night we hosted a dinner for some of these amazing leaders to share ideas, challenges, and inspiration in the space. As part of the opening ceremony we give everyone a chance to say "one word" to encapsulate what leadership will be focused on in 2025. Here's what we came up with: Niching, AI, Speed, Results, Intentional, Growth, Challenge, Endurance, Momentum, Resilience, Evolution, Google, Results, Training, Inspiration, Trust, Mindset, Pipeline, Margins, People, M&A, Re-imagination, and Community Thank you! 🎨 UI and UX: What's the difference? While User Interface (UI) focuses on the look and feel of a product, User Experience (UX) dives deeper into how it works and how users interact with it. Understanding this distinction is key to creating designs that are not only visually appealing but also highly functional. 💡 Want to learn more about how UI and UX work together to create great products? Stay tuned for more insights! #UIDesign #UXDesign #ProductDesign #ToolboxNo9

🐺 Watch out for Big Bad Wolf #2: Overcomplicating Your Product As Jason Rhoades explains, it’s easy to lose focus and start adding too many features to a product, leading to unnecessary complexity. When this happens, the user experience suffers, and the product becomes harder to use and less effective. Keeping things simple and focused on core functionality is essential for success. Curious to learn more about the other "Big Bad Wolves" in product development? We came across a post debunking the myth that 'Accessibility is too expensive,' and it resonated deeply with us as a UX design team. 🚀🎨 The truth is, accessible design often costs less than inaccessible alternatives. Take poorly designed navigation systems—small tweaks that prioritize accessibility, like improving keyboard navigation or color contrast, can enhance usability for everyone while reducing overall development costs. At Toolbox No.9, we advocate for designs that meet everyone’s needs because good UX is inclusive UX. Have you seen examples where accessible design proved more effective and economical? We’d love to hear from you! Let’s promote accessibility and prove it’s not just right, it’s smart. 🖥️💡 #AccessibilityMatters #UXDesign #InclusiveDesign
Designer with engineering background | I talk about designing products that are intuitive, accessible and delightful to use.
“Accessibility is too expensive” There are many problems with this idea, but let me just say this real quick: Accessible design is often cheaper than inaccessible design. For example, checkout Wayfair’s hover menu below. I’m trying to click a link on the right of the submenu but I can’t get there. This is because the direct route to the link moves the cursor out of the container. So I’m forced to move my mouse directly down and across carefully. This is sh*t UX for everyone, let alone people with motor impairments. But the kicker is that you could just show the menu on click which is not only good UX but it’s cheaper to implement. If you have other examples like this let me know.
