Independent agencies are leading a shift in how shops are compensated, overturning traditional pricing based on billable hours and costs per head that has been standard for decades but long lamented as antiquated. This new pricing is based on deliverables and value, performance, flat fees, bonuses and equity stakes, among other alternatives. Here's how they're doing it:

Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2024 flew by this year! Attending the festival has been an incredible journey into the heart of modern marketing and C-suite dynamics. Here are some key takeaways: 🌟 The Evolution of Marketing Complexity: Today's marketing landscape is more intricate than ever, demanding robust project management skills to navigate properly. 🌟 Resonating with Gen-Z: As we know, the Gen-Z audience is shaping the future of consumer behavior and expectations; Understanding and engaging with this audience is crucial. 🌟 Marketing's Role in Driving Social Impact: Beyond mere sales figures, marketing often serves as a catalyst for meaningful social change. Consequently, it is not to be overlooked but recognized as an essential area of investment and focus for any organization. 🌟 Traits of the Modern CMO: Building a strong partnership with your organization’s CFO is key. Equally important, a CMO must act with curiosity, optimism, vision, adaptability, and strong business acumen, daring to be ambitious and brave with their forward thinking. 🌟 Learning from the Graveyard: Failures shape our growth and innovation paths. Embrace your failures as learning opportunities, pivot, and build. 🌟 Considerations in the C-Suite: Think like a CFO, focus on meaningful metrics over vanity metrics, passionately believe in your vision, and connect effectively in the boardroom. Reflecting on these insights reinforces the notion that despite the complexities we face, understanding and connecting with people remain at the heart of effective leadership and marketing strategy. Marketing powers business and a strong brand will outperform the rest, let's continue to innovate and drive positive change together! #CannesLions2024 #MarketingLeadership #CsuiteInsights #FutureOfMarketing #CEOinsights #CMO #GenZMarketing

We recognize there is more than one day of independence in this country, and putting as much importance on celebrating one as we do the other is essential to nurturing a culture that is more open and accepting of people from all backgrounds. From its humble beginnings in Galveston, Texas to its profound significance in modern-day America, may every Juneteenth bring us that much closer together.

Congrats to Amelia for representing Gen Z so well and getting published in Adage

⭐  I am ecstatic and grateful that Ad Age has created a platform for emerging voices and published my column piece. In the article, I inspire business leaders to consider an increasingly relevant topic across generations: mental health. 🧠 It was during my undergraduate years at the University of Michigan studying Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience, that I first learned about the increasing prevalence of mental health diagnoses among my age group. Since then, I have been eager to bring those insights into the business world. I wrote this piece for Mental Health Awareness Month. Every year in May, I see an increasing number of leaders on LinkedIn weighing in on the discourse. That said, these conversations are not commonly seen at the brand level. Is this a good business move? 🤔 I answer this question in the article: Mental Health and Marketing: 6 Ways for Marketers to Win Gen Zer’s Loyalty. 🙏 Thank you TILT and Janice Snook for supporting this effort! https://lnkd.in/gYRpVgMH #MentalHealth #Marketing #GenZ #AdAge #PointofView #ThoughtLeadership

Wonder & excitement are in the air as LJ in the USA heads to Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity this month! 🦁 Established in 1954, Cannes Lions has grown into the premier global event for creative marketing and communications. The inaugural festival was held in Venice, Italy, moving between Venice and Monte Carlo in its early years before settling permanently in the iconic location of Cannes, France, in 1984. The festival takes inspiration from the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, sharing not just a location but a dedication to celebrating creativity and excellence. Inspired by the film festival’s success, Cannes Lions was created to honor exceptional advertising and creative work. Today, Cannes Lions is the most prestigious event in the creative marketing world, attracting thousands of attendees from across the globe from industry leaders to innovators and visionaries all to network, learn, and celebrate the best in the business. Highlighting some of the greatest advertising of our time with previous LIONS winners; "Dumb Ways to Die" by McCann Melbourne for Metro Trains in 2012 and “Like a Girl" by Always (P&G) in 2015. Excited for a week of learnings and creative excellence in the beautiful Mediterranean and renowned Palais des Festivals. Let’s connect if you’ll be there and cheers to another year of groundbreaking ideas and inspirational work! #CannesLions2024 #Creativity #MarketingExcellence #Cannes P.S. I’ll be going live every day on my TIK-TOK and Twitter so check me out for daily insights into the festival at @MadMenMad and @LJinUSA
