Part of what we do in Thread is to prepare our young people for the future. Dunbar Program Manager Stephanie recently helped young person Unique connect with a nurse so she could ask questions about the field. They talked for hours and she is already thinking about what certifications she plans to pursue in the future! #Baltimore #Maryland #NursingField #CommunityBuilding #Nonprofit #Diversity #DEIJ #YouthLeadership #YouthInTheWorkForce #NewSocialFabric #WovenStrong

Through an emerging collaboration with Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, MD approximately 25 young people and volunteers were able to take advantage of a career exposure trip specifically for the Thread community. Attendees learned about 15 different departments and careers such as radiology, social work, patient transport, nursing, rehabilitation, services, and food services. The Mercy team also provided guidance on navigating jobs in healthcare, interview skills, and more. #Baltimore #Maryland #Healthcare #MedicalField #CommunityBuilding #Nonprofit #YouthLeadership #Collaboration #InterviewSkills #CareerExposure #NewSocialFabric #WovenStrong

After finding out Thread young person Taylor had an interest in cosmetology, Thread's Digital Harbor High School Program Manager Michelle and Community Engagement Specialist Leroy used their connections to take Taylor and her sister over to Di J's Hair Skin & Nails to talk with the owner! What an awesome way to get our young people started thinking about their future. #Baltimore #Maryland #Nonprofit #YouthLeadership #FuturePlanning #CommunityBuilding #DEIJ #NewSocialFabric #WovenStrong
