Did you know Danish companies have a unique opportunity to support North America’s green transition? 🤔 The appetite for green solutions in North America is growing rapidly, and Danish companies are perfectly positioned to meet this demand, particularly within renewable energy and energy efficiency. Today, we’re excited to share two inspiring examples that demonstrate how Danish expertise is making a difference across the Atlantic. First, let’s look at Kanda, a Danish software company that has successfully entered the U.S. market with its VR-based simulation training platform. The company’s VR platform transforms education spaces into a digital learning universe to certify employees in complex production industries. Since the Biden-Harris administration set a target of implementing 30 GW of offshore wind energy by 2030, and with the introduction of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), investments in the U.S. offshore wind sector have increased by $7.7 billion. Additionally, the number of companies supporting the wind energy supply chain has grown by 54%. Together, these developments create significant opportunities for Danish companies like KANDA. With the support of The Trade Council in North America, KANDA has built a strong foothold in the U.S. wind market by forming partnerships with companies such as US Offshore. KANDA has mainly focused on states like Texas and New York, but are now planning further expansion into other states in the Midwest. Another example comes from New York’s ambitious policies, such as the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Climate Mobilization Act, which are driving demand for energy-efficient technologies. Regulations like Local Law 97, which require larger buildings to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, have created significant opportunities for Danish companies. Danish expertise in district energy has been particularly sought after as New York focuses on modernizing its energy infrastructure. The Trade Council is supporting this by organizing several initiatives, including workshops, stakeholder events, and delegation trips to Denmark. These efforts aim to strengthen partnerships and create commercial opportunities for Danish companies seeking to expand their presence in North America. At the Trade Council, we are proud to support Danish companies eager to capitalize on these opportunities and expand their sustainable solutions. 🇩🇰🇨🇦 Canadian energy delegation visits Denmark to gain insights into the Danish energy ecosystem and PtX landscape This week, a group of Canadian energy officials toured Denmark’s energy sector. Along with our advisors, Christian, Sif, and Jakob and Head of Energy Morten Siem Lynge, the delegation received presentations from State of Green Denmark, the Danish Energy Agency, and COWI, covering the latest developments in Denmark’s energy transition, as well as the growing role of PtX technologies in decarbonizing key industries - both on land and at sea. During meetings with Vestas, Semco Maritime, and Energinet, the group engaged in discussions on how Denmark’s wind resources are being harnessed to generate clean power. Moreover, A.P. Moller - Maersk shared their efforts to decarbonize the shipping industry and provided the group valuable insights into how the Danish maritime sector is embracing new technologies to reduce emissions and meet climate targets. The group also delved into the renewable energy and growing PtX industry in Denmark, with presentations and facility tours at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Topsoe, and Welcon A/S, learning about how their technologies and projects enable the production of green hydrogen and e-fuels. Moreover, the delegation visited GreenLab, Port Esbjerg, and Odense Port to experience potentials within industrial symbiosis and the role of ports in offshore wind and the PtX industry. 🌱 As Canada accelerates its energy transition, this exchange of knowledge with Denmark’s energy leaders opens exciting opportunities for collaboration with one of the leading nations on the renewable energy scene. We hope that the insights gained throughout this delegation will support clean energy growth on both sides of the Atlantic. A special thank you to all the organizations and partners who hosted the delegation and made this exchange of ideas and expertise possible! 🌍✨ Denmark in Canada, Denmark In New York, The Trade Council #PtX #Renewables #DenmarkinCanada #WorkingforDenmark

Danish Architecture enhances student well-being in Canada 🌱🏫 Danish architecture is making a mark on the Canadian landscape, with our partners at CCO Architects leading the way. Among their projects is a sustainable student housing project at the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus, to accommodate increasing demands for on-campus housing in Toronto’s rapidly growing student population. The design features a six-story, 400-student building that fosters social interaction, supports student well-being, and promotes academic success drawing inspiration from Danish design principles. The project incorporates energy-efficient solutions such as solar panels and smart lighting, ensuring a sustainable and comfortable living environment for students. Vibeke Lydolph Lindblad, CEO & Partner at CCO Architects, highlights the role of the The Trade Council in facilitating the firm’s entry into the Canadian market: "The Trade Council’s local knowledge was invaluable in arranging meetings with potential partners and public clients, helping us better understand Canadian culture and market dynamics." With a strong portfolio in creating innovative learning environments and now local Canadian expertise, CCO Architects, is well-positioned to continue expanding its work in sustainable student housing and educational projects across North America. We are proud to support their journey and look forward to seeing more sustainable Danish design shaping the architectural landscape across Canada and beyond 🚀 If you want to learn more about opportunities for Danish companies within the North American sustainable urban development space, please feel free to reach out to our Advisor Ailish Dunn, or read more about CCO Architects’ journey in Canada through the link in the comment section.
