When The Campbell's Company noticed unusual discoloration in its facility’s piping, Haskell’s Quality team used the SPI BORESCOPES LLC Epic Explorer for a precise and thorough inspection.  One of a variety of highly specialized tools Haskell’s Quality team employs, the borescope is an optical instrument designed to allow visual inspection of spaces that otherwise can’t be reached. Cutler Knupp, Haskell Vice President of Strategy & Technology Investment, recently helped judge the inaugural Hitachi Construction Machinery Challenge. The program received proposals from 127 startups that fit three themes:    In “Construction Planning,” Sodex Innovations emerged from the pack with its product that turns operators into surveyors by equipping machines with laser scanners and cameras. By giving the machines “digital eyes,” the operators can capture terrain in real-time and keep track of progress without stopping operations for a survey.    Teleo won in “Revolutionize Equipment: Information, Interface & Autonomy” with its brand-agnostic solution that allows the operators to control multiple machines simultaneously from a remote environment out of the elements and away from dangerous conditions.      In “Transform Fleet Management,” Veristart won with its solution for preventing machinery theft by providing fleet managers control of their equipment via a cloud application, mobile application and hardware. Nobody shares The Haskell Company’s vision better than Workforce Planning Director Michael Huskey and his Workforce Strategy and University Relations teams. But they do even more than that. They touch lives. Here are two recent examples: Ashley Saddler is a graduate of both Haskell’s High School and Collegiate Internship Programs and, as of this month, is a graduate of Florida A&M’s College of Architecture. Our programs made such an impression on Ashley, an active-duty reservist, that he invited the University Relations team to his graduation ceremony. He’ll now pursue his Master’s in Architecture – and we’ll look forward to providing other opportunities in the future. Sean Lovely will become the first graduate of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Beyond School Walls program to join our Internship Program this coming Summer of 2025. Mike was Sean’s Big Brother for three years while he attended Riverside High. “From the earliest days of our relationship, he had a career interest in AEC and has selected construction management for his degree path which he is pursuing locally at the University of North Florida,” Mike said. The creativity of Haskell’s Private Facilities Architectural and Engineering teams spilled out of virtual design models and into the halls and workspaces of our Jacksonville, Florida, headquarters again this holiday season! Peter Skirbst, Haskell’s VP of Integrated Design for Private Facilities AE, passed out awards in the juried competition. The Civil-Site team was judged Most Inspirational with its international display of sights, lights and treats. Most Energetic went to – who else? – the Electrical engineers. The Architects were named Most Whimsical with its “Polar Express” theme, and the Structural team was deemed Most Magical for Santa’s Post Office, complete with an oversized Naughty & Nice list. Finally, Mechanical & Plumbing took Most Classical with their “refined, stately and elegant” display. Elsewhere throughout the building, the Construction & Manufacturing team brought Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” to life, while the Planning & Development Marketing team celebrated with multicultural displays, activities and meals.   A second group of team members from Haskell’s Jacksonville, Florida, headquarters rang bells earlier this week for the The Salvation Army #RedKettle Campaign at the Publix Super Markets store in the San Marco neighborhood.
