Last week, nearly 400 SpartanNash Associates participated in National Wreaths Across America Day — an annual event dedicated to honoring the memory of fallen soldiers by laying wreaths on Veterans' cemeteries. Associates joined over 4,000 volunteers around the country. We are proud to recognize one of our Clinical Care Coordinators Lisa Bade on her recent accolade of 2024 Immunization Champion from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. 👏   Lisa pioneered a pharmacy immunization program, Immunize at ArtPrize – a public immunization event in Grand Rapids, Mich. designed to remove barriers, make immunizations easily accessible, and empower attendees at the art show to become part of an immunized community that works together to stay healthy and safe.    She also helps spread public awareness about pharmacy training, advocates for her profession, champions legislation efforts to improve immunization access and equity and spearheads pediatric COVID-19 vaccination efforts.     Congratulations, Lisa, on this well-deserved recognition! 💚   #WeWin #SpartanNash #Pharmacy

During a time when many families face food insecurity, we are honored to partner with Miller Amish Country Poultry to deliver essentials to our local food pantries. Today, we donated 350 cases of poultry and sausage to 10 food pantry partners, ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious meals during the holidays. Since this tradition began in 2006, we have donated over 500,000 pounds of protein! We’re pleased to share that our Specialist of Events for Metcalfe's Market Eric Salzwedel, was recently honored with a That Deserves a Crown award by the Green Bay Packers for his outstanding community engagement. The recognition took place at Lambeau Field before the Thanksgiving Day game against the Miami Dolphins! Under Eric’s leadership, Metcalfe’s Market has become a hub for charitable giving, raising over $100,000 for local nonprofits through its annual Brat Fest in 2024. He also runs his own nonprofit, Do Good Wisconsin, which has raised over $1 million since 2021 and organizes community events and school supply drives. Eric’s dedication to community engagement exemplifies the giving spirit that goes beyond the holiday season. In the spirit of giving this holiday season, VG's Grocery SpartanNash and Miller Amish Country Poultry are making a significant contribution to help families in need. On Friday, December 6th, VG’s/SpartanNash and Miller Poultry donated 7,200 pounds of premium chicken drumsticks and 3,000 pounds of chicken sausage to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Chief Development Officer Crystal Travis was on hand to oversee the donation and thank representatives from both VG's and Miller Poultry in person. This gesture underscores VG’s/SpartanNash and Miller Poultry’s commitment to supporting local communities and ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious meals during the festive season. "We appreciate the communities that we do business in" said Jim Cataline, Service Manager and Sales for Miller Poultry. "We've been doing this for going on 18 years and giving back to the communities is part of our core values." That sentiment was echoed by Chris Palmer, Store Director of VG's at Silver Parkway in Fenton, who added "the donation that we've done every year as far back as I can remember is great for the community." The event was highlighted by the very special appearance of Miller Poultry's President, Matthew Craig. Mr. Craig was thrilled to collaborate with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, VG's and SpartanNash in order to provide food for those in need this holiday season. When asked for comment, he stated that "it's a great opportunity and we're thankful for the partnership."
