We are all seeking ways to measure the impact of learning. I wanted to share an inspiring case study that Skillsoft and the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University authored for the World Economic Forum. Skillsoft partners with Syracuse's IVMF in the Onward to Opportunity (O2O) program that offers reskilling programs to returning servicemen and women and their spouse of all age groups for in-demand technology certifications in cloud, cybersecurity, networking and project management. O2O has served 100,000 veterans and military family members, with high participant satisfaction driven by tailored learning and mentorship. Here are the results.... Over 60% of O2O learners receive a verified employment outcome of either a new hire or enhanced employment through upskilling. O2O graduates experience a 2x job mobility rate within the first six months and, on average, earn starting salaries $7,000 higher than their peers, demonstrating enhanced employability and confidence in the job market. Veterans at the E-6 pay grade and below who complete O2O training enjoy an average increase of $13,000 in annual earnings. Congratulations to all the participants and to the O2O program for making measurement a priority. https://lnkd.in/eiWusXUc

Workplace favoritism is a slippery slope. It can help talent feel more valued and engaged, but it's just as likely to lead to resentment among others. Skillsoft's Leena Rinne believes leaders have a role to play, linking praise to performance to ensure that employees feel that it's justified and fair and reframing favoritism as "healthy competition." It's crucial for leaders to foster a culture of transparency and meritocracy, recognizing and rewarding employees based on their achievements and contributions to create a more inclusive and motivated workforce. Thanks for covering another relevant topic, Lindsay Dodgson. Check out the Business Insider story in the comments. #TalentRetention #Favoritism #Resentment
