About us

Psst is a smart new way for insiders to safely and collectively share public interest information. SEE SOMETHING You’ve come across something at work that doesn’t seem legit (possibly even illegal?) and you don’t know what to do. Before you even figure it out… Save it. SAVE IT We’ve built a proprietary secure Safe which stores your information in a secure vault. Until you can understand what you actually have, it can just be your special place for safe keeping. No one will see what you’ve saved unless you decide otherwise. GET GOOD ADVICE Want to speak to someone right away? You can send what you’ve saved directly to us. We'll review and call you to have a more detailed conversation about your concerns and more importantly, figure out what legal, media and other support you might need. MAKE A MATCH Remember, this isn’t solely on you. Other people are also coming forward and depositing information into their Safe. If their info matches yours in any way, it organically brings a picture into view, and takes the onus off you. You’re no longer alone at your desk. BUILD A BIGGER PICTURE Sometimes it takes a village. If your information finds a match, you can choose to have it de-encrypted and sent to our legal team. A legally privileged conversation will help you figure out what to do next (if anything). ASSESS THE RISK The sanitizing effect of sunlight can hold powerful companies to account, but billion-dollar corporations can be a formidable opponent. You need to have a solid plan and good legal strategy. We have lots of experience with this. RAISE THE ALARM If you decide to make your information public, you’re not on your own. We’ll work with you and any others involved to come up with a strategy for telling the story. That plan may involve you staying anonymous. Or it may not. We will make sure your disclosure has maximum impact on the world, while building a community of support around you.

Psst... Anyone else interested in defending humans against robots/autocrats, could you upvote our @SXSWLONDON panel, now live for voting? Is whistleblowing dead? Defending freedom against robots and autocrats In an era where billionaires dox government officials and NDAs silence whistleblowers, exposing wrongdoing seems increasingly risky. Yet insiders are more essential than ever. This panel explores how to empower collective action and protect those speaking out when the guardrails of democracy are quickly disappearing. Together, they’ll share strategies to overcome obstacles and how to safeguard whistleblowers fighting for accountability. Panelists are: Mark MacGann, Uber’s former head of public policy who exposed the company’s illegal tactics globally Holly Alpine (née Beale), who led Microsoft employees in challenging the company’s use of AI in oil & gas Zelda Perkins, founder of Can’t Buy My Silence and Harvey Wenstein whistleblower Jennifer Gibson, co-founder of Psst.org, which redefines whistleblowing through collective action You'll have to create an account/log in to vote at the link below, but we thank you for the extra effort (the robots/autocrats won't appreciate this manual labor, but we will.) We'd love to get this conversation rolling: https://lnkd.in/ewv_mXkv

  • In 2009, Wendell Potter defected from Cigna to speak out about the ways health insurers were exploiting everyday people to increase profits. Somehow, nothing has changed. “Investor days” continue to be happy occasions for the shareholders, while everyday people pay more for less care and worse health outcomes. This topic isn’t new, but now more than ever we need to give insiders like Potter the megaphone (and protections) they need to bring the truth to the public. Read his excellent oped here: https://lnkd.in/dPvEKGk9

They might be aggressive... but we're clever, and collective. (And have partners like Hush Line. And an anonymous raccoon).

Psst.org, a bold and exciting new #nonprofit “built to empower insiders to shine a light on the unchecked power of society’s biggest players,” has just launched. Mary Inman, together with two Whistleblower Partners’ clients, Mark MacGann and Ed Pierson, are founding members of Psst.org’s Board. Led by Co-Founders Jennifer Gibson, Amber Scorah and Rebecca Petras, Psst.org is poised to revolutionize the act of speaking up by changing it “from an individualized act to a collective pursuit, thereby diffusing the risk and bringing to light stories which might otherwise never have seen the light of day.” Check out Psst.org to learn more.

🚀 Exciting News: We’ve Launched a New Nonprofit! 🌟 I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Psst.org, a nonprofit built to empower insiders to shine a light on the unchecked power of society’s biggest players—from Silicon Valley to Washington, DC. In an era where tech companies operate behind closed doors and democratic institutions face unprecedented challenges, whistleblowers now more than ever need better—and safer—ways to speak up. Psst’s innovative approach will turn “speaking up” from an individual pursuit to a collective action, thereby diffusing the risk and bringing to light stories which might otherwise never have seen the light of day. I can think of no better people to help bring this vision to life than my Co-Founders, Rebecca Petras and Amber Scorah, and our amazing board members: Mary InmanEd Pierson, and Mark MacGann, who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this mission. Together, we’re committed to creating safer, smarter ways for people to speak up—and making a real impact. More details are coming soon about how we’re going to achieve this vision, along with the amazing partners helping us along the way. Here’s a hint: it includes tech! If you’re passionate about ensuring the insider can speak up to the benefit of all of us on main street, check out psst.org to learn more. #Nonprofit #Launch #PsstOrg #Whistleblowing #TechTransparency #TechAccountability #CollectiveAction #LightIsTheBestDisinfectant #FixingTheUpstreamProblem

The way to protect democracy is always through more and deeper democracy: more checks and balances, more effective means of calling those in power to account. Fintan O'Toole Psst.org is a brilliant and oh-so-timely initiative. I’m proud to join the Board to advise and defend whistleblowers in the USA and the European Union and beyond. I have learned a huge amount over the past two and a half years since I became a whistleblower, and I’m honoured to get this opportunity to “pay it forward”. Jennifer Gibson has been my lawyer and fiercest advocate since I was revealed as the source of the Uber Files. I’m grateful to her, Delphine Halgand-Mishra Rebecca Petras and everyone at The Signals Network for their untiring and talented support. My SEC/DOJ lawyers, the phenomenal Mary Inman and Poppy Alexander at Whistleblower Partners LLP are America’s finest attorneys deserve my appreciation in this first post since being revealed as the source of the Uber Files. To those who know me in the worlds of technology, business, media and government - you might question, disagree with or even be angry with my decision to “blow the whistle”. I respect your position and I’d be happy to explain my motivation. I ask you to respect my views and my decisions, I don’t ask you to agree or support them. To those of you who are reading this and feel that you have witnessed wrongdoing, corruption or harassment, or are being abused in some manner by the corporation or government you serve, I’d be happy to give you the benefit of my experience, and together with the brilliant women who have founded Psst.org , honoured to support and defend you. The democratic ideals our parents and grandparents fought wars to achieve is as much under threat from within as from the butcherous autocrats and their western cheerleaders. To the tech bros who think they know better than elected politicians and public servants, and to the would-be dictators who believe that the ideals and constituon of the Republic don’t apply to them, know this: the checks and balances are not limited to Congress, parlementarians, Courts Supreme or otherwise; they are also constituted with investigative journalists and a pluralistic, free press; the activists and volunteers who believe in peaceful civil disobedience; and whistleblowers. Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter (Martin Luther King, Jr.).

  • Psst...Anonymous raccoon sighting at #AISummit today in NYC

Psst….Going guerilla with raccoon today at The AI Summit at Javitz (If you went to the bathroom you may have seen "Anonymous the Raccoon" -- women’s bathroom that is…if only I were so bold, men). If something doesn't quite seem right behind the scenes at a company you work at and you need a gut-check about what to do, we're an independent body that exists to help you figure that out, while keeping you safe/anonymous. Hope you all saw Anony Racoon! At Psst, you can stay behind the mask, too! If you see something…save something.
