We at Celent just published our latest report: Alternative Investment Platforms for Wealth Management: A Solutionscape.
https://lnkd.in/eHWBQ66z
We interviewed 22 alternative/private market investment platforms and technology providers to learn how they're making alternative investing more accessible, efficient, and customizable for the wealth management channel. These firms serve wealth managers, private banks, family offices, RIAs, and HNW/accredited investors. The report provides 90+ pages of detailed company profiles, comparison tables, and analyst takes on key strengths and differentiation.
Here are my 4 takes on common capabilities and trends surfaced from the interviews that summarize the current solution landscape. See the attachments and click the report link to read more.
1) End-to-End Platforms for the Entire Investment Lifecycle
- Many of the companies profiled in the report offer services across pre-investment (education, investment research, sourcing, due diligence), investment (customizing strategies, investor onboarding, subscriptions), and post-investment (performance reporting, tax management, capital calls/distributions) all in one platform.
2) Automation of Workflows for Efficiency and Scale
- Providers are leveraging intelligent automation and AI to automate onboarding, subscriptions, performance reporting, tax management (e.g., K-1s), capital calls, distributions, and more for advisors and operations teams.
3) Unique Investment Strategies for Diversification and Performance
- Platform providers are offering unique investment strategies that differentiate their product offerings, including evergreen and semi-liquid strategies, hybrid public/private funds and model portfolios, GP stakes, secondaries, and more.
4) Total Wealth: Unifying Traditional and Alternative Investments
- It's early, but the wealth management industry is starting to see greater synthesis between public and private investments through integrated reporting and performance analytics, hybrid investment strategies, and B2C holistic wealth apps.
