Army veteran Joseph Gunderson has always been committed to helping others. As a volunteer for organizations that assist veterans, he understood the power of creating a welcoming and supportive environment. However, life can change in unexpected ways, and Joseph found himself on the other side of the equation—needing help for himself and his family. This year, Joseph turned to Operation Homefront for support when his HVAC system broke down, leaving his home unbearably hot in the middle of summer. To make matters worse, the heat was taking a toll on his four beloved dogs, who were struggling to stay comfortable. Thanks to the generosity of The Home Depot Foundation, we were able to assist Joseph through our Critical Financial Assistance program. With their support, Joseph was able to repair his HVAC system, bringing much-needed relief to both him and his beloved dogs. This vital support restored comfort to their home and gave Joseph invaluable peace of mind. At Operation Homefront, we’re honored to support veterans like Joseph, who selflessly serve our country. A little rain at our Holiday Meals for Military® event in Poulsbo, WA didn't stop our parade! 🍗🛒🥖🥗 Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, partners and employees, we still accomplished our mission to serve 350 military families from Kitsap County. Each family received a gift card, a thanksgiving food bag, and got to enjoy tasty beverages! Santa himself made a jolly appearance, Filling the day with magic and festive adherence. Volunteers worked with smiles and care, Making sure each family felt love in the air.
