🚨 Justice Served: Opal ORC Team’s Impact on Major Retail Theft Case 🚨 I’m incredibly proud to highlight the outstanding work of the Opal ORC (Organised Retail Crime) team in helping secure convictions for three individuals involved in a large-scale retail theft operation. Through excellent collaboration with Surrey Police our team was able to uncover a complex criminal network responsible for stealing significant quantities of merchandise from multiple retail locations. These criminals were not only causing financial losses for businesses but also posing a threat to the safety and integrity of local communities. 👏 A big congratulations to everyone involved in bringing these criminals to justice. It’s a powerful reminder that with the right tools, commitment, and teamwork, we can make a difference in the fight against organised retail crime. #RetailSecurity #ORC #Shoplifting #LossPrevention #Teamwork #OpalSOAC #Justice https://lnkd.in/gRsie85f

Last few days to apply for this great job. Opal are hiring a Detective Chief Inspector, head of operations (or Detective Inspector on temporary promotion) for a 2 year secondment. This is one of the most varied and exciting roles in policing and you’ll be joining us at a time we are expanding and developing our capabilities even further. This is a fully remote role,WFH but with the expectation of some national and occasional international travel. Reach out if you want a chat about the job.

Alongside our usual quarter 3 organised retail crime update we wanted to share the message that it's been so incredibly positive to see all of the hard work across police forces and the retail sector around the Safer Business Action Week to prevent and protect against retail crime 👏. The Opal team have been: Attending partnership events to support understand around organised retail crime and how we can combat it together ✅️ Running upskilling sessions to support greater intelligence feeds into policing and wider engagement with retailers and forces ✅️ Providing retailers and forces with key high-harm locations to collectively target for organised crime to support data-driven targeted activity ✅️ Providing forces with key high-harm individuals and groups who remain outstanding as part of current investigations supported by Opal ✅️ We've already seen a great deal of positive activity as a result and intelligence submissions into policing are on the rise. We know for everyone involved the work you've been doing for the week of action, that it's just a snippet of the fantastic work you do every single day and we're thrilled to be with you on the journey keeping that momentum going! 👏. If anyone has missed any of our sessions and wants to know more please get in touch at opalorc@opal.police.uk

The team have thoroughly enjoyed driving forward the national efforts on this on behalf of the NPCC lead and alongside Sharon Naughton MA and the team at NaVCIS (with lots of other key partners of course too) and great to see what is achieved with collective efforts and joint working across the partnerships! 👌🤝 Vehicle crime & associated harms impacts too many across our communities so a big thanks to all those that work tirelessly to tackle these issues day in day out (too many to list but you know who you are) and a massive thanks to all involved in the focused activity across the UK recently really focusing and intensifying joint efforts bringing together a whole host of hard work and ongoing activities 🤝 It’s great to see partnership working across the UK and beyond including with overseas partners. Top work from so many including NPCC, Opal, NaVCIS, law enforcement, partner agencies, private sector & manufacturers working together to bring offenders to justice and let’s keep up the momentum and continue to maximise collaboration to disrupt those involved in organised criminality causing harm to our communities 💪 Opal SOAC #partnerships #vehiclecrime #organisedcrime #Industrypartners #NaVCIS #NCATT #bettertogether #NPCC #Alliances https://lnkd.in/eRsgteKB

Great work going on across all of the Opal SOAC thematic desks with this example as one of many pieces of collaborative engagement resulting in great outcomes going on across the vehicle crime area. Vehicle crime is a prime example showing that serious organised acquisitive crime is intrinsically linked to so many other serious organised crime areas meaning that results like this make such a difference! 💪👏 Awesome work by all involved!
