✨ As 2024 ends, here are some of our proudest accomplishments at the New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD), this year: 🔧 Vocational Programs: NMCD launched more than a dozen new vocational programs, offering certifications in fields like HVAC, welding, carpentry, auto mechanics, and more. Inmates can now also earn their CDL licenses, helping them secure employment upon release. 🎉Old Gumby’s Country Store: We opened our new store in Santa Fe, showcasing and selling inmate-made goods to the public. 🎓 High School Equivalencies: For the second consecutive year, NMCD achieved the highest number of high school equivalency completions in the state! A huge win for education and personal growth. 🚔 Public Safety: In partnership with our law enforcement partners, our Adult Probation and Parole officers confiscated nearly 300 firearms from felons, making our communities safer. Here’s to continued growth and success in 2025! #NewMexico #yearinreview #corrections #publicsafety

👏 The inmate clubs at the Penitentiary of New Mexico made generous donations this holiday season to various community groups. 📸 In the photos, you can see the club presidents proudly holding the giant checks, representing their efforts to make a difference. Please note that certain faces have been blurred, based on their crimes and in accordance with our efforts to prevent re-victimization. #NewMexico #corrections #communitysupport #givingback #holidayseason
