As New Orleans gears up to host Super Bowl LIX, a citywide beautification effort is underway to highlight the city’s creativity, opportunity, and community. Local artist Brandan “BMIKE” Odums is leading the charge with his largest mural yet—a massive 105x167-foot piece on the HEAL parking garage near Duncan Plaza. Featuring “everyday people depicted as giants,” the mural stands across from City Hall, serving as a powerful symbol of the community’s spirit. Leaving a legacy of philanthropy through Super Bowl LIX! 🤝 Yesterday, we officially announced the nonprofits in the Greater New Orleans area that are being awarded grants through the Impact 59 Powered by Entergy legacy program. Thank you to our partners, Entergy, The NFL Foundation, New Orleans Saints, Greater New Orleans, Inc. – GNO, Inc., United Way of Southeast Louisiana, Ochsner Health, and Venture Global, for their support.

Today, local media were given the opportunity to participate in a round table discussion with former National Football League (NFL) safety for the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers, Roman Harper. During the discussion, Harper shared information on Opening Night, which will take place on February 3rd, from 5-10PM at the Caesars Superdome and Super Bowl Experience, which will take place February 5th-8th at the Ernest N. This past weekend, the Super Bowl Host Committee, in partnership with Marathon Petroleum Corporation, hosted the first of four STEM Fest in Bridge 2 Innovation STEM series. Participants were provided an exciting opportunity to deepen their understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with over 80 various stations. From hands-on activities to interactive exhibits, students were able to explore these fields in new and engaging ways, sparking interest and inspiring future innovators. To continue the National Football League (NFL) and New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee's mission of giving back to the community, Kayleigh Harry and her father were surprised with a pair of tickets to Super Bowl LIX from community champion, Jen Hale! Kayleigh is an academically driven, community-focused leader who is dedicated to making New Orleans a better place for girls like her to live, learn, and thrive. Congratulations, Kayleigh!

Nearly 100 volunteers will join National Football League (NFL) Green, the Super Bowl LIX Host Committee, Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, Chefs Brigade, FORCE BLUE, Verizon, Venture Global LNG, Dow, and Entergy to prepare for a Super Bowl week living shoreline project. Together, they’ll bag 59 tons of oyster shells—one ton for every Super Bowl—collected by Gulf Coast chefs and caterers. These shells will be used to build a reef in Leeville, LA, helping to combat coastal erosion, reduce storm surge, and restore vital habitats. This effort highlights the NFL’s commitment to a sustainable legacy for South Louisiana, a region deeply impacted by land loss and climate change.

Today, the Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee passed the ceremonial Super Bowl "Golden Shovel" to our Host Committee, officially kicking off a series of Super Bowl LIX community greening projects! Initial projects include planting 32 trees at Friends of Lafitte Greenway creating a living shoreline to combat erosion, and preparing 59 tons of oyster shells for a reef restoration project. We're proud to partner with National Football League (NFL) Green, Verizon, Entergy, Dow, and Venture Global LNG to leave this lasting “green legacy” in New Orleans

The Host Committee was excited to partner with Entergy, one of our presenting partners, for an exclusive panel discussion on all things Super Bowl and the city’s preparations for the big game! With Marcus Brown serving as Host Committee Chair, this session will dive into the impact of the Super Bowl on New Orleans and how we’re all coming together to make it a success. And to top it off, there was a surprise guest appearance from a few of our incredible Community Champions!
