  • Stories like Aimee’s remind us why we do what we do. Our work touches the lives of music professionals every day, which allows them to continue to make music happen. • In 2023, MusiCares Foundation launched #HumansofHipHop to expand support for hip hop music professionals nationwide. The initiative kicked off its inaugural year with co-creation events in eight key cities, bringing together artists, advocates, and mental health professionals to share stories and break down barriers. From Killer Mike's call for unity in Atlanta to MC Lyte & Saweetie’s celebration of women in LA, nearly 700 people came together to shape the future of MusiCares’ support for the hip hop community. Humans of Hip Hop wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our supporters - Supporting Partner Vivid Seats and H3 Contributor Amazon Music! ❤️ Stay tuned on MusiCares socials as we prepare for H3’s second year, with plans for in-person preventive care clinics and deeper support. Oakland, we’ll see you next!

  • Today, on #GivingTuesday, let’s take collective action to support the music community affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. 100% of funds raised for MusiCares today will go directly to our crucial disaster relief efforts for music professionals in need. Serving as our fourth largest disaster relief effort, MusiCares Foundation has processed over 600 applications and distributed $1.3 million in relief to music professionals impacted by these storms. Our work isn’t done – we’re continuing to process applications and provide aid, and we’re so grateful for the support from our donors that make this work possible. ❤️ Give back today: https://lnkd.in/eigMAGx4

  • Ahead of #GivingTuesday – next week’s global day of generosity – we’re reflecting on the resilient and uplifting stories from music professionals who were impacted by Hurricanes Helene and/or Milton, and received disaster relief aid from MusiCares Foundation. This impactful support wouldn’t be possible without the help of our donors, and this year, we’re dedicating 100% of GivingTuesday donations to our disaster relief services. 📲 Ready to make your donation early? Give back today: https://lnkd.in/eigMAGx4 Thank you for helping us provide a safety net for all music professionals during this season of giving. ❤️

  • MusiCares is deeply saddened by the loss of Quincy Jones. He was a musical titan and advocate to multiple causes, including his Quincy Jones Listen Up! Foundation. It was an honor to recognize Quincy as the MusiCares Person of the Year in 1996 for his extraordinary musical and philanthropic legacy. Quincy attended numerous Person of the Year galas across the years, as he joined MusiCares to celebrate distinguished peers and collaborators inspired by his work. Quincy will be greatly missed, and our thoughts are with the Jones family and the many members of our music community that were fortunate to call him a friend. Photo by Jeffrey Mayer/Getty Images

  • As we enter the holiday season, MusiCares recognizes that while this time of year can be filled with joy, it can also bring stressors such as grief, financial worries, loneliness, and unrealistic expectations. We’ve added a seasonal support group to our year-round, free, weekly, virtual support group offerings for the music community! Our goal is to provide a virtual, supportive environment where participants can openly discuss the unique challenges that the holiday season often presents, and share practical strategies and coping mechanisms. Join us and Lyn Rowbotham, Phd, LMFT every Wednesday for the next 6 weeks for our virtual, hour-long Navigating the Holiday Blues Support Group, in partnership with ASCAP. ❤️ 📲 To sign up, reach out to our group leader at lyn.therapysolutions@gmail.com. 🔗 Learn more about the variety of #supportgroups and more #mentalhealth resources that @musicares offers: https://grm.my/3KLYywH

  • The results are in! This year's MusiCares Foundation Wellness in Music survey gathered nearly 2,800 responses, highlighting crucial insights into mental health, financial wellness, healthcare access, and substance use trends in the music community. These results wouldn’t be possible without the music professionals that participated and shared their insights with us, and the community that spread the word about the survey. MusiCares’ Health & Human Services team will use the information gathered to inform our programming, so that we can best meet the needs of the music community. To everyone who made this possible, we are so grateful! 📲 Learn more about this year’s Wellness in Music survey results: https://grm.my/3YHvBLr
