Congratulations to Elsa Ruiz and Miguel Romero, who welcomed a baby girl, Ariel Leilani, just after the new year! Ariel was born at 12:01 a.m. at the Cherese Mari Laulhere BirthCare Center at MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach. She is the first MemorialCare baby born in 2025. “We didn’t expect Ariel to be born on New Year’s Day since she was due on January 20, but we couldn’t be more thrilled,” said Miguel. “It’s an amazing way to kick off 2025 with our beautiful baby girl.” Having a baby is one of life’s biggest moments, and where you choose to deliver can make a difference. That’s why more than 10,000 families choose our three award-winning maternity centers to deliver their babies each year.

Our spiritual care team strives to make sure colleagues, patients, and families at all of our medical centers have the opportunity to honor and celebrate their favorite holiday traditions.
