This week, our Vice-President for Corporate Affairs, Henry Parker, was the sole private sector speaker at NATO's Hybrid Symposium, which took place for the second time in Prague. As part of the Symposium, more than 100 allied experts and representatives gathered to address the challenges posed by adversarial use of hybrid tactics, including influence operations, on the part of NATO adversaries including Russia and China. Participants discussed the worsening threat environment and how to strengthen NATO’s approach to countering hybrid threats and deterring these threats more effectively. Henry outlined how influence operations are evolving as new AI-enabled techniques start to come to the fore, but also emphasised how AI can be part of the solution and that NATO should aim to actively manage, and not just to respond to, what they are encountering. He focused on three core innovations that Logically is now deploying including: ▶️ AI Narrative Clustering: Logically's unique capability to identify and group narratives from across the internet through analysis of millions of posts, alongside assessment of levels of engagement and sentiment to allow prioritisation of countermeasures. The work Logically has done with NATO Stratcom Centre of Excellence is helping to to embed these approaches as best practice across the alliance. ▶️ AI-enabled CIB Detection: Logically has developed advanced models to evaluate and identify 11 coordination indicators, based on the DISARM framework. This allows our clients, aided by our expert analysts, to flag influence operations as they unfold at scale. ▶️ Streamlining Content Verification: Logically is collaborating with 35 IFCN Accredited fact-checking organisations to deploy Logically Accelerate, a system that flags and extracts fact-checkable claims across major social media platforms, optimising debunking efforts by civil society organisations. We’re delighted to announce that Henry Parker, our VP for Corporate Affairs, will be giving a keynote address at the upcoming inaugural OECD Digital Trust Convention, which takes place in Paris on 15th November. The Convention will explore how to create a resilient digital space in which trust and integrity, as the foundation of democratic discourse and effective markets, remain possible in the era of generative AI. Delegates will hear how we can: ▶️ Establish trust in people and information and identify approaches, instruments and measures that are effective and sustainable ▶️ Reliably recognise real human beings in the digital space ▶️ Ensure that every citizen/consumer has a fair chance to be heard and have an impact The Event is arranged alongside the Atlantic Council, the Bertelsmann Stiftung, KI Park, Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, OECD - OCDE. Partnership on AI, VDE & World Privacy Forum. Logically will be providing insights drawn from our partnerships across the ecosystem, including those with social media platforms, regulators and government agencies. Our work is helping to ensure that AI safety mechanisms are not only robust but also aligned with broader industry trends and regulatory landscapes. In particular, Henry will touch on: ▶️ Logically’s latest research on harmful misuse of multimodal generative AI, including Financial Fraud & Scams, Cyberbullying and Hate Speech. ▶️ How Logically's work to support the effectiveness of guardrails and safety mechanisms is essential for preventing unintended harmful outputs from AI models. ▶️ How Logically’s technology can help generative AI companies constrain the types of requests their models respond to, ensuring outputs remain appropriate and compliant. ▶️ How our expertise can address intelligence coverage gaps by comparing the performance and response of AI models to vectors of the most prevalent, as well as newly emerging, harmful narratives and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs). This ensures that far more comprehensive safeguards against potential threats and misuse are in place. You can find out more about the Convention and register to attend at https://lnkd.in/eucfWfij
