New Year's Day Gratitude Post! What are we grateful for? To live and work in a community that cares about kids and families. To be surrounded by farms that grow the best food on the planet. To partner with more than 70 schools and agencies to share nutritious food with families. To have access to so much fresh produce from Good Shepherd Food Bank and to have Hannaford, Shaws Supermarket, Standard Baking Co. and Rosemont Market & Bakery as our food rescue partners. To welcome more than 150 volunteers whose time and commitment make our programs possible. To have 56 (and counting) community members support our programs with monthly gifts. To know that local funders like the United Way of Southern Maine and John T. Gorman Foundation are committed to nourishing kids. And for everyone who contributes what they can to improve the lives of others. Thank you! Happy New Year! 🥦🍅

Welcome and thank you to the newest members of the Locker Project community--we’ve see so many new folks make gifts and sign up to volunteer this month. It’s amazing! We’re also feeling deep gratitude to all those who support our work year after year. We couldn’t do it without you.💜 Our Annual Appeal gives our programs a solid start on the new year, ensuring that we can purchase dry goods for purple bags and school pantries, rescue fresh food from supermarkets for our events, and then deliver bags and host fresh food events all over Greater Portland every week. We have a little ways to go to reach our goal. Can you help? Shoutout to this caring community for making sure kids and families have nourishing food to eat at home! 🥕🥦🍎 https://lnkd.in/gPZ-gicF venmo: mainelockerproject #feedingthefuture #feedmainekids #healthymainekids

Our school and community programs reached more than 2,500 kids and their families this year. With your help, we can connect kids at risk of hunger with even more healthy food next year. 🥦❤️ ❄️🕯️🎄#feedingthefuture #holidaygiving #feedmainekids 🫶 https://lnkd.in/gPZ-gicF venmo: mainelockerproject

As part of their annual Day of Service, a team from Colby Company, LLC built this beautiful corral for our compost bins--to keep the food scraps in and the critters out! We were thrilled to be among the organizations chosen for this year’s projects. Thank you!

Financial support from the business community makes up about 20 percent of our annual budget. There's still time to join our 2024 supporters! 🥕💜 #feedingthefuture https://lnkd.in/gPZ-gicF venmo: mainelockerproject

Woohoo! Our friends at Whole Foods Market donated more than 1,100 pantry staples and snacks to help us fill purple bags and stock school pantries this week. These items will help hundreds of families over the winter school break put nourishing food on the table. Thank you!! 🍲💛

We're sending home as much food as we can before the school break begins. Could your office collect any of these items for us? 🥫🥫#feedingthefuture
