We are elated to see the completion of the construction of Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc. (HIP)'s #netzero energy homes in Fairmount Heights. These homes will be affordable to first-time home buyers and will feature a microgrid and pocket park. LISC supported this project with a $1.8 million construction loan. This summer, we had the privilege of watching the modular home construction right before a solar eclipse. We are grateful to HIP as one of our partners in Prince George's County and for their exemplary sustainability work! Check out this LISC story to learn more about the project: https://lnkd.in/e33ZST4f
On Tuesday, November 12th, the Redevelopment Authority of Prince George's County Board of Directors and Staff participated in a tour of the Fairmont Heights Net Zero Home project. Our project partners including Housing Initiative Partnership (HIP) Executive Director Stephanie Proestel and Prince George's County Department of Housing and Community Development Executive Director Aspasia Xypolia provide attendees with the project background and its financing. Local builder WarrenBuilds provided Mayor Akiaba and the RDA with an in-depth description of its energy efficiency and micro-grid strategy to power these 6 new affordable homes in Town of Fairmont Heights, Maryland. #affordablehousing
