New from EdWeek Market Brief: Leading Educators and The Learning Accelerator discuss why we teamed up to launch the first-of-its-kind School Teams AI Collaborative. “Oftentimes technology is just designed for educators to use. This is an opportunity for educators to also design their own tools, to interact with technologists, and to think about, ‘What does it actually look like for my kids in my classroom? What are the problems that we need to solve?’” said Chong-Hao Fu, CEO of Leading Educators. Teams of educators from 19 schools in nine cities across the country will work on developing uses for AI tools in the classroom, test those efforts in coaching cycles, and document their learning throughout the 2024-25 school year. Our partners at Detroit Public Schools Community District are rewriting that story, proving what’s possible when opportunity meets action: 📈 AP exams taken soared from 1,707 in 2018-19 to 2,181 in 2023-24. 🎓 College-credit-earning scores nearly doubled, jumping from 364 to 656! Leading Educators Systems Advising team collaboratively facilitated a day of learning and dreaming with Stephanie Phillips and Burlington School District in Burlington, Vermont today! We thought partnered alongside district leaders, coaches, and teachers to vision what all students and educators could do if we implement a strong instructional framework that guides student learning. Kudos to Kristine Schipper and Jessica Jenkins for their work in developing and facilitating a day that allowed educators to feel like true partners in this work, to D.E. Coplin for ensuring the day went smoothly and we were well fed, and to Erin Davis, Ph.D. for joining us in her hometown to support the learning! We're excited co-develop the instructional framework in the new year and support its implementation in the next school year!

“These kids aren’t quiet, so I usually know that they get it when they yell out, ‘I get it!’”, shares Ms. Shannon Payette, a veteran teacher of 20 years. “The minute that a child can explain to me why this is working, then that means I have done my job.” Teachers strive for these kinds of moments daily, which is why many constantly look for new ways to teach important concepts.
