Ran my profile through the Coauthor AI LinkedIn Rewind thingy. It generated a pretty graphic and fairly well-written post. I think AI can be pretty cool, but as an elder Millennial who has built a career out of writing the old-fashioned way, it offends my sensibilities to let a robot write my content. So allow me, comma splices and all, to recap my 2024 for you instead: * Celebrated three years at Curriculum Associates and got promoted to Sr. Manager, Employer Brand * Graduated magna cum laude with my bachelor's degree in Urban Studies from Cleveland State University; also got accepted into a master's program at Ohio University for Organizational Communication that I will probably start in late 2025 * Worked with colleagues across the United States, as well as Bangalore and Dublin, Ireland on employee advocacy campaigns, brand messaging and maybe most importantly, PowerPoint slides * Helped amplify the stories and talent of not just our senior most leaders but also the incredible thinkers and doers at all levels of the org * Planned half of a wedding, twice (it's a long story) * Was featured in articles about work, communication, and neurodivergence, twice * Joined MKTG WMN, met a bunch of incredibly talented women through their Slack community, coffee chats and events * And maybe most importantly, I managed for the first time ever, to get family holiday portraits taken, cards designed AND MAILED before Christmas. Truly my biggest accomplishment this year. 😁 The AI thing wanted me to talk about my superpower of "breaking down corporate barriers through authenticity," and you know what? Yeah. I like that. I do hope that's my superpower, and I'll be bringing that energy with me into 2025. In 2025 I'm looking forward to: * Moving to the People & Culture team with my incredible boss and mentor Charlotte Fixler and our new teammate Leeza Smith to focus on corporate communications, internal comms, and digging deeper into CA's employee experience * Stepping into a leadership role with CAInfinity, the neurodivergent ERG, as co-facilitator * Getting married, hopefully without re-planning this wedding a third time * Whatever other adventures lay ahead for the weird girl from Alaska who stumbled into a career in strategic comms! Here's to a happy, healthy and creative holiday season and new year! #FacesOfCA #InsideCA

🙌 2024 has been an amazing year! I'm so grateful for all of my experiences, connections, accomplishments, and growth made throughout this time. 🪴 Under the leadership of Rob Waldron and Kelly Sia, Curriculum Associates has provided countless opportunities for me to learn and develop, both personally and professionally. I am beyond proud to be a member of such an outstanding community of professionals dedicated to making classrooms better places for students and teachers. 😁 I want to share my appreciation for my manager and teammates for consistently showing up and supporting me along my journey -- Whitney Hawkins, Lyzette Garza, and Ken Ferguson! One of the opportunities that contributed to my growth was the Black Leadership Academy. ✨ This program allowed me to uncover my uniqueness, hone in on my personal strengths, and really discover my leadership. I am grateful to have embraced this experience with my learning partner, Dr. Eugene Thomas, Ed.D., whom has helped me to stay consistent, inspired, and accountable during this journey. Thank you to the wonderful people that ensure this program continues providing space and opportunities for our leadership cohorts -- Lyzette Garza, Sonya Coleman, Tyrone Holmes, and our phenomenal facilitator and consultant, Fatimah Burnam-Watkins! 🌟 Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't take a moment to highlight the outstanding connections, opportunities, and experiences from the Black ERG. Because of this space, I have created lifelong partnerships, learned to bet on myself, and created spaces for others to do the same! Over these past two years, I have had the privilege of leading with an unstoppable force, Chantel V.. Chantel is beyond passionate about empowering and advocating for others, and it shows in her every action! We were blessed to have such a remarkable leadership team throughout our tenure of dedicated community champions -- Khadija Jones, Kezia Pigford Swinney, Ed.D., Zennebe A., Madison Page, Sierra Smith, Jasmine Quiceno, M.A. 👩🏿💻, Anna R., Tanishia Lavette Williams, Ph.D., Lauren Pruitt Eugene, and Charmane Guyton. Thank you all for taking the leap and leading the charge for our communities! To our Black ERG Executive Sponsors --Tyrone Holmes, Katie Rahm Nicholson, Sonya Coleman, and Antoinette Noel -- thank you for advocating and empowering our leaders and community members. Your guidance and belief in our leadership are greatly appreciated! 💐 As I reflect, 2024 was a year of embracing opportunities, committing to empowerment and evolution, and the year of "YES"! I said "yes" to myself. I said "yes" to taking on hard things and doing them exceptionally well. I said "yes" to the unknown and trusting in my faith. My heart is full! I look forward to 2025 and all it has in store! 😊 #CurriculumAssociates #FacesOfCA #InsideCA #BlackLeadershipAcademy #BLACohort2 #BlackERG #Grateful #LearningAndDevelopment #PeopleAndCulture
