Metro Council has denied rezoning for our proposed housing development off Cooper Chapel Road for the second time. We believe this reflects an ongoing trend to block new apartment projects. "We have an issue in the city where the only thing worse than a new single-family home subdivision outside the urban services district is an apartment development outside the urban services district," said Michael Gross, our Kentucky development director. We will not let this stop us from our mission to provide quality housing for all. https://bit.ly/4iFiHpe

When Dave Parks saw the work being done at The Arthur Street Hotel firsthand, he knew he had to be a part of it. In just two years, ASH has helped over 150 people gain access to stable housing—a number that continues to grow every day. For Dave, that kind of impact speaks volumes. He describes our model as groundbreaking, highlighting the way we focus on every aspect of support, from providing stability to addressing the barriers that keep people from finding housing and hope. Dave reminds us that any contribution helps, whether it’s an hour of your time or just $1 of your money. “What better way is there to help solve the problem than to invest in others that are trying to solve the problem?” At ASH, we’re proud to create life-changing opportunities, but we can’t do it alone. Every act of generosity adds up to real, lasting change for those we serve. Be part of the solution. We are thrilled to announce the closing of the Meribel in Weaverville, N.C. The Meribel marks our third development in North Carolina and will provide 156 affordable housing units for families earning 30%, 60%, and 80% of the area median income, addressing the critical need for affordable housing in our newest market. A special congratulations to Development Manager Landon Cox, who has successfully closed three deals in North Carolina in less than two months. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our outstanding financial partners: R4 Capital LLC, PNC, Buncombe County, Carolinas Housing For All, and Housing Authority City of Asheville—this milestone would not have been possible without your support. Stay tuned!

When Joel’s tent was set on fire, he nearly lost everything—his clothes, belongings, and personal documents were gone. Most heartbreakingly, his beloved dog, Shelby Lynn, had experienced serious burns requiring intense vet care and a safe place to recover. When Joel was connected to the Arthur Street Hotel, he not only found shelter and the support to reorder an ID and Social Security card, he also received the resources to nurse his dog back to health. At ASH, we know pets are more than companions—they’re family. One of the unique aspects of what we offer is allowing hotel guests to keep their pets, understanding that animals often provide the unconditional love and support needed to get through life’s toughest moments. For many, the thought of giving up their pet is a barrier to seeking shelter and services. We’re here to break down that barrier, ensuring people and their pets have a safe space to heal and move forward together. Today, Joel and Shelby Lynn are on the path to stability, with a renewed sense of hope and the vital documents that open doors to new opportunities. Your support helps us provide life-changing care for residents like Joel and their furry friends. At the Arthur Street Hotel, we’re redefining how individuals transition from homelessness to housing. It always makes us happy to know that our community partners see the difference we’re making and recognize the innovative model we’ve built. Amanda, from St. John Center, shares how a stay at the Arthur Street Hotel makes the move home easier for someone who has previously lived on the streets. She highlights the impact of our unique approach. We’re deeply grateful to St. John Center for being such an incredible partner. Their dedication and collaboration are integral to the work we do and our community solution to homelessness. Join us in delivering change. Congratulations to our EVP of Finance, Lisa Becker, on winning the Kristin Hulsman Award! The annual award goes to an employee who consistently demonstrates their commitment to the LDG values by always looking for opportunities to better or make the lives of others easier. The award honors Kristin Hulsman, an asset manager for Louisiana and one of LDG Development’s first employees, who passed away in 2022. Kristin loved her job, and she was always looking for ways to help our residents and enjoyed nothing more than spending time at our communities and getting to know the families we serve. Please join us in congratulating Lisa!

Melony’s Story: A Journey of Hope and Resilience Life on the streets brought constant challenges for Melony—without a safe place to sleep or leave her belongings so she could seek resources and tackle daily tasks, she faced the stress of not knowing if help would ever come. The Arthur Street Hotel (CARE at ASH) gave Melony the stability she needed. With assistance for her physical and mental health, connections to vital services, and a hotel room to protect her and her belongings, she was able to rebuild her life. Today, Melony has transitioned into permanent housing, a testament to her strength and determination. But Melony is just one of thousands in Louisville who need the community to walk alongside them. Each person deserves a chance to find their path, and with your support, we can make that possible. Your support can help us create more stories like Melony’s. This #GivingTuesday, Help Us Bring 216,000 Years of Life Back to Louisville Homelessness robs people of more than just a home—it can take decades off their lives. In Louisville, over 7,200 individuals are experiencing homelessness, each facing an average 30-year reduction in life expectancy. That’s 216,000 years of life, memories, creativity, and community that we, as a city, stand to lose. Our Arthur Street Hotel (ASH) is driven to change this reality. Through compassionate support, stable housing pathways, and tailored resources, we empower individuals to move from crisis to stability. Our mission is to restore hope, dignity, and the potential for brighter futures in the lives of those we serve. This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking YOU to join us in delivering change. Your generosity has the power to rewrite stories, extend lifetimes, and build a Louisville where everyone has a chance to thrive. Visit https://bit.ly/3Be076P or Venmo: @CAREatASH to donate and become part of this life-changing work. Together, we can restore those 216,000 years—one person, one home, one moment of hope at a time. With your support, we can create a community that reflects the best of us all. No one saves us, but us. Watch: https://bit.ly/4iepg1L
