The Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth’s Washington School for the Deaf (WSD) is featured in Architectural Record! The article explores the design process—focused on learning and immersion in Deaf culture—and resulting mass timber buildings tuned to support ASL-bilingual communication and community at WSD. Remarkably, the effort reflects both careful specializations aligned to DeafSpace principles and broad relevance to all built environments.
