As we reach the midpoint of the semester, we want to take a moment to highlight our recent events and activities that have strengthened IISE at Purdue. Our SIGMA career fair was a fantastic opportunity for Purdue Industrial Engineering students to connect with over 50 companies, exploring internships and job opportunities. A huge thank you to all the organizations, recruiters, and students who participated! Last weekend, we successfully hosted a Six Sigma Green Belt certification program, drawing a record 127 attendees. This event enabled students to enhance their skills and prepare for their future careers. During Purdue’s Homecoming weekend, many IISE members attended the IE to CEO panel, where our own IISE President, Vikas Devulapalli, shared insights on leadership and career development alongside esteemed alumni. Additionally, we have hosted various professional development events, with our most popular being the Career Fair Prep Workshop, which featured a mock career fair and provided valuable practice for attendees. These events are well attended and foster engaging discussions and networking opportunities. We look forward to what the rest of the semester will hold!

The Purdue IISE Chapter has over 100 members and is very involved in the Purdue Community. IISE offers events and activities for IE students to develop professionally, network, build their resumes, give back to the community, and socialize with other students in Industrial Engineering. We host professional events, do community service events, participate in on campus events, and host social events for our members, alumni, and faculty.

Congratulations to 4 of our board members for winning the Bastian Solutions case competition!
Bastian is excited to have participated in their first case competition at Purdue University! After months of planning, our team was able to build a challenging case study for engineering students to take on. Through partnership with the IISE group at Purdue we were able to assemble teams made up of engineering students to compete against each other. The purpose was to give the students 1️⃣ week to work on a problem for a company and come up with a solution to present to the Bastian Consulting team. Shoutout to the winning team - Mark R., Prisha S., Nick L., Gabriel A. - who were awarded certificates, giveaways and dinner with the Bastian team.
