  • We at Brightline are equally thankful for the great work from Best Friend Jack. Shout out to Lena Cheng, MD and Reed Perkins! Their deep understanding of the health-tech space, along with their ability to craft cohesive brand narratives and deliver high-quality content, has helped Brightline evolve and differentiate our marketing campaigns. Their dedication, creativity, and strategic insight were key in helping us push forward during a pivotal time for Brightline. We highly recommend Best Friend Jack to any health-tech company looking for a partner that can elevate their brand and marketing efforts!

Six years ago, we didn’t know if this would work. When Reed Perkins and I started Best Friend Jack nearly six years ago, we didn’t have grand plans to build an agency. Honestly, we weren’t even sure if we could make it work. We told ourselves, “If it doesn’t take off, we can always go back to in-house roles.” That mindset gave us the freedom to take risks, experiment, and figure things out as we went. Fast forward six years, and I’m filled with gratitude: - For the trust our clients have placed in us to tackle their challenges - For a team that consistently goes above and beyond to deliver - For the hard lessons (and there have been a lot!) that taught us resilience, adaptability, and the power of leaning into uncertainty What started as a “let’s-see-if-we-can-do-this” experiment has grown into something much bigger: a story that’s still being written, built on the values we care about most—trust, creativity, and impact. This Thanksgiving, I’m reflecting on how far we’ve come and the people who made it possible. To our clients, collaborators, and everyone who’s been part of this wild journey: thank you. #gratitude #digitalhealth #healthtech #agencylife

Less than a year ago, we launched BrightLife Kids — a program developed alongside the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to provide critical mental health support to California families. Today, we’re delighted to reflect on the impact we've made together, reaching tens of thousands of kids and caregivers across the state. BrightLife Kids ensures all families with children ages 0–12 – regardless of income or insurance – have free, confidential access to high-quality behavioral healthcare. All they need is a California zip code. We’re reaching families in rural counties, overcoming barriers to bring expert care where it’s most needed. Who we’re helping: =>53% of BrightLife Kids families live in underserved communities =>Of families in coaching, 80% identify as BIPOC =>Our diverse team offers bilingual coaching in English, Spanish, and 17 other languages via live interpreters. Why this matters: California’s youth face unique challenges, especially in BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and financially stressed communities. By providing trusted, culturally responsive mental health tools, we’re supporting not only kids but their caregivers, strengthening entire families. We’re immensely grateful for the support from the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative and the California Department of Health Care Services. And this is only the beginning! We’re here to make sure all families have access to mental healthcare, exactly when and where they need it. Read more about our journey to accessible behavioral healthcare:

  • The health of children is deeply connected to the well-being of their caregivers. As the Surgeon General Vivek Murthy recently pointed out, more than 40% of parents are so overwhelmed that they can't function on many days. At Brightline, we recognize the importance of helping parents and caregivers manage stress and maintain wellness to better support their children’s mental health. Discover more about this vital connection in the latest MedCity News article, written by Brightline's VP of Therapy, Kendra Read, PhD. https://lnkd.in/ewTNfyEg

The Surgeon General’s advisory on the mental health and well-being of parents yesterday is a clear and urgent call for help. In the advisory, we read that 48% of parents say that most days their stress is completely overwhelming. [Full study here: https://lnkd.in/g3KKXMdv] These and other stats within are startling but they don’t come as a surprise to us. For years, Brightline has led the way on family-focused programs. We’re the only mental health care company who has consistently produced published and validated results on caregiver strain and how our approach reduces it. Dr. Murthy’s advisory highlights what we have seen and been tracking all along using an instrument called the CGSQ-SF7. Our recently published peer-reviewed study in JMIR outlines caregiver strain, workplace productivity, and absenteeism — along with the powerful and positive impact Brightline has on those affected. Among parents or caregivers experiencing high levels of strain, a reliable improvement in the CGSQ-SF7 was demonstrated in: 78.9% of caregivers with a child in the Brightline coaching program 68.5% of caregivers with a child on the Brightline therapy pathway 65.2% of caregivers with a child in psychiatry treatment with Brightline The severity of the pediatric issues directly correlates to the levels of stress on the parent or caregiver. That escalating strain emerges in mental, physical, emotional, and financial ways — to the tune of $44B. Our programs also address those factors — engagement with Brightline programs results in meaningful reductions in both work absenteeism (down 33%) and financial strain (down 37%) for families. At Brightline, we are professionals and parents, and our focus has never wavered. We provide the expert mental health care that so many kids, teens, and parents/caregivers need. The work we do — and the proven outcomes we obtain — is vital to families. Offering Brightline as part of your benefits package gives your employees a simple, proven solution to a complex, nationally recognized problem. If you missed our study, it seems like there’s never been a better time to catch up. Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/g7iypfKF

Hey professionals 👋 We think what BrightLife Kids offers (at no cost!) to CA families with kids ages 0–12 is incredible — but don’t just take it from us. Hear it directly from one of our members! 👩👩👧👧 Chelsea and her husband have a 7-year-old son. She’s a licensed educational psychologist, so she’s got more skills than your average caregiver. But the tools she uses to help other kids weren’t meeting their neurodivergent son’s needs. 🧡 She signed up for free coaching with BrightLife Kids and has already seen a change in her son’s behavior, her own stress level, and her family’s ability to connect with and enjoy each other. 📖 Watch her powerful story below and spread the word to every California family you know. 🌐 Sign up today: https://brightlife.kids/ca

👀 Check out these moments 📸 from our team's events this week and see what parents and health providers are telling us! 💬 🧡 "I tried to get support through (health insurance company) but there was a waitlist. I'm so happy this is available" 🧡 "I can't believe this is completely free. My kid is 4 years old and he graduated from a county behavioral support program at 3, so we haven't been able to get him support since then. This is going to be so helpful." 🧡 A parent shared that her daughter’s father left them without a trace a year ago and the little girl has been struggling since. The parent expressed trying to get her daughter into therapy, but not being able to get to the only clinic without a waitlist over 45 minutes from their home. She was so excited at the prospect of BLK’s virtual services to help manage her daughter’s outburst behaviors that have developed since her father left. 🧡 A mom shared that her daughter had been in counseling for a few months when her counselor went out on leave several months ago and the clinic has not replaced her services. She was so excited that she could schedule coaching sessions with BrightLife Kids to help her daughter manage her anxiety. 🧡 A few families expressed relief about having a program that can help support them with their child with ASD or IDD 🧡 One Kaiser provider in the East Bay literally said "I'm so glad that my tax dollars are being used on this. It makes me proud of CA" 🧡 A school counselor in East Contra Costa County said that many of the families she serves struggles with knowing what to do with their children at home to keep them off their tech devices and engage in "real life" again. She believes they will benefit from parent coaching in BrightLife Kids. She also shared that it is so important that we have BIPOC coaches because their community typically doesn't see themselves represented in behavioral health spaces. She was beyond grateful that our resource exists. Want to sign up your family or know of a family that can benefit? https://brightlife.kids/ca

  • We’re busy raising kids, too. So we know that pockets of “free time” are few and far between — or nonexistent, depending on how old your kids are. We also know that making sure your kids have the support they need means everything. Which is why we’ve made it easy for you to manage your child’s mental health care — from anywhere. Our app is available on both iOS and Android devices. Now, you can schedule a therapy session from a parking spot. Send a question to a coach from the farmers market. You can even put in your mobile coffee order and get through a quick-read article about how to talk to your teen while you wait for your oat milk to steam. Parenting is the best. It’s also hard. Brightline is making it easier by keeping you connected to your child and to their care. Download the Android app here: https://lnkd.in/gS55nYPC Download the iOS app here: https://lnkd.in/gw7w4vNu
