Who is eligible? ✓ You’re a farmer (or grower) currently growing a specialty crop ✓ You’re entitled to an ownership share and share in the risk of producing the crops that will be sold in 2025. ✓ Your adjusted gross income (AGI) from your tax returns for 2021, 2022, and 2023 is under $900,000. 🌟A Truly Global Celebration of Innovation and Entrepreneurship! 🌟 Last week was a true celebration of entrepreneurship as TiE Bangalore hosted a spectacular and unforgettable #TiEGlobalSummit, and exemplified what it truly means to think and operate globally, setting a remarkable benchmark for future events. The summit began with the TiE Women Global Competition, where Alex Edquist represented TIE Tampa Bay with her innovative company, Good Agriculture, and competed among 40+ women entrepreneurs, gaining invaluable global experience and connections. Congratulations to the winners DASI Simulations (TiE SoCal), Adrich (TiE Pittsburgh), Surgicure Technologies, Inc. (TiE Boston) and TiE Women team Nandini Aggrwal, Revathi Krishna, Vijay Menon, and team for the successful program. TIE Tampa Bay Chapter President, Ramesh Saligamé, Charter Members Aditya Kulkarni, Kunal J., and Executive Director MEHAK ARORA also had the privilege of immersing themselves in thought-provoking panel discussions, engaging with entrepreneurs, and connecting with individuals driving incredible ventures. TiEUnicon students and US delegates learned about governance at Karnataka Vidhan Sabha, an enriching experience organized by Pravin Hungund and coordinated by Dr. Paul Lopez, Pradeep Yuvaraj, Aditya Kulkarni, Dr. Ravi Brahmbhatt and team—a great example of cross-border, multi-sector collaboration. The summit's magic concluded with an unforgettable Closing Ceremony at the Mysuru Palace, bringing its grandeur to life. 🌎 What did the climate sector look like in 2024? 2024 is on track to be the warmest year on record, with average temperatures expected to exceed 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels for the first time. At the same time, we saw one of the most active years in terms of climate innovation and investment, with some of society’s best scientists and engineers solving some of our most pressing challenges. ✨ Updates from Founders Factory We launched a number of new programmes focused at building solutions around climate and decarbonisation. ➡️ Our new Mining Tech Accelerator, backed by Rio Tinto, saw us make our first six investments to disrupt the mining industry—from increasing metal recovery to treating mining waste, to improving remote discovery ➡️ Our new Nature Tech Accelerator, in partnership with the Government of Western Australia, sought to back startups building resilience around nature, biodiversity, agriculture, and more ➡️ We launched a new Proptech Venture Studio, in partnership with Vonovia (Europe’s largest housing group), to drive the future of urban living (including developing climate-neutral housing).
