Delighted to be attending the ERSA Conference this year, and listen to the powerful words “Out of work, out of sight.” from Alison McGovern, Minister of State for Employment. Reflecting on the recently published White Paper and rising economic inactivity, McGovern emphasised the need to rethink how we view those out of work, describing it as a “different kind of unemployment” rather than writing people off. Key takeaways: 📊 Evidence-driven solutions: Data shows inter-work rates are falling, not rising—a wake-up call to address labour market inequalities, not just between the North and South, but within local geographies. 💡 Trailblazers: Women, young people, and those with long-term mental health conditions are central to new strategies designed to tackle regional disparities. 🤝 Collaboration is key: McGovern acknowledged the immense talent in the employment support sector, urging us to shape localised, people-centric solutions. 🎯 The goal? Get Britain Working: Supporting individuals to not only find work but also thrive in their roles. McGovern’s message was clear: the challenge is clear, and the DWP is ready to face it. In turn, the employment support sector stands ready to play its vital part in delivering localised, evidence-driven solutions to tackle economic inactivity and help 'Get Britain Working'. #ERSAConference #ERSA #GetBritainWorking #ERSA2024 #EmploymentSupport

Today our wonderful Health and Wellbeing team hosted a networking event at our Kilmarock office to support their participants. The event gave them the opportunity to engage with their local health providers and form a health management pathway beyond their Fedcap journey. We had a great turn out, with 𝟭𝟬𝟬% of participants who completed a feedback form saying they would recommend this event to a friend, one participant said "I was looking forward to this event for ages. Made me feel very welcome" A massive thank you to Morag for arranging the event, and we would also like to thank everyone who attended today, including: Andy's Man Club, Community Health Activity Team (CHAT), EA Essential Skills, Dietetics and Health Promotion (NHS), Social Security Scotland, Dean Castle Park Run and PoweinPilates. #FedcapHealthandWellbeing

Our Health and Wellbeing Performance Manager in Scotland, Jodi Adamson, delivered the 15-month contract on behalf of Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership, supporting 42 people aged 15-25 with learning disabilities, mental health challenges or neurodiverse conditions. The young people received up to eight 1-1, evidence-based health and wellbeing interventions to provide support and guidance to help them successfully navigate challenges, build resilience, and enhance their overall mental wellbeing. This week we celebrate #DeafAwarenessWeek 12 million adults in the UK are deaf or have hearing loss. We can all play our part to be more deaf-aware, both in work and in our daily life. To recognise this, we wanted to share the story of Jenifer, a Personal Adviser in our Livingston office who chose to learn BSL after she realised the difficulty people with hearing impairments have in getting the support they need. Watch the wonderful Jenifer talk to us about her journey with BSL here: https://lnkd.in/eb2A2A7v
