For the second year in a row, we’re honored to highlight the International Rescue Committee on the New York Stock Exchange’s giving tree. Around the world, IRC helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by crisis and conflict, empowering them to survive, recover, and gain control over their future.
About us
Ethan Allen embodied the American pioneer spirit, and his spirit is in our DNA. We were the first furniture retailer to offer furniture gallery showrooms and complimentary interior design service. Our inventive spirit is most evident in the extraordinary range of styles we offer. We have endless fabric, finish, and customization options—because every detail matters when you're expressing who you are and what you value. Speaking of values, we're leaders in environmentally sustainable manufacturing and operations, investing in our communities by manufacturing approximately 75 percent of our products in North America. Products that aren't made in North America are made by some of the finest local artisans around the globe. Giving back during the holidays goes beyond #GivingTuesday at Ethan Allen; it's a yearly headquarters tradition. For more than 20 years, we’ve supported the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program in our home city of Danbury, Connecticut. We’ve also participated in Project Warmth since 2017, collecting coats, gloves, warm hats, and more for Family & Children’s Aid, which supports kids who are in foster care, mothers and kids who are unhoused, and kids struggling with behavioral health and substance abuse challenges.

All over the country, all through the season, our Design Centers are hosting Holiday Open Houses. Find out if there's an event near you. https://lnkd.in/gKt4Dpdx

As a supplement to the on-site medical care provided at our Silao upholstery plant, Ethan Allen CEO Farooq Kathwari’s family foundation funds a vision assistance program for the children of associates, ages 6 to 10. In addition to free eye exams, children in need of vision correction receive free glasses, which both empowers them to perform better in school and contributes to their overall well-being and confidence. Here's looking at you, kids—we can’t wait to see where the future takes you.

Our Milford, Connecticut, interior design team recently filmed a series of design tips for a local New Haven television station, as well as a segment sharing the benefits of having furniture made to order. It was so much fun to see janine belenardo, Dawn Connors, and Melissa Colby sharing their interior design expertise and explaining the many options available to clients when they work with Ethan Allen. Congratulations to Jenn Zaniewski and her team! https://lnkd.in/etnuncz7

Does your Ethan Allen furniture have doors, drawers, or shelves? As we learn more about what causes furniture tipover, we’ve made changes to how we engineer our products—but we still need your help to prevent tipover hazards. Even if you think your furniture won’t tip over, even if you think your children won’t climb—anchor it to a wall. When we design and craft new Ethan Allen furniture, we make it a priority to minimize the risk of furniture tipover. We use rigorous engineering and testing protocols that exceed the U.S. government’s standards for materials and personal safety. One of the best things you can do to prevent furniture tipover—in addition to installing tip restraints—is to avoid placing tempting items on top of media units, dressers, and chests. When possible, mount your television set to the wall. If you do place your television on top of your furniture, avoid placing remote controls, toys, or other tempting items beside or on top of the TV—when kids can see them but not reach them, they’re more likely to climb. Help us prevent furniture tipover.
