We are excited to announce Daybreak is a proud recipient of 4imprint's OnebyOne grant. Through this generous program, we were able to order 398 purple engraved carabiners for David's Place at Daybreak to give to homeless LGBTQ+ youth in the Miami Valley and spread awareness of the services we provide for young people in the Dayton community.❤️🏡🗝 #homeless #homelesslivesmatter #homelessyouth #youthhomelessness #endhomelessness #fighthomelessness #homelessshelter #youthshelter #dayton #daytonohio #daytonyouth #communitypartners

Last week's Market Day was a rousing success! Over 2 dozen young people received the winter clothing they needed as well as books and toys. It's one thing to have warm enough clothing when the weather turns. It's another thing entirely to have clothing you like and gifts for yourself and those you love. We hope all the youth who came out enjoyed the market. And thank you to those in our community who made it possible! 🏡❤️⭐ #homelessyouth #youthhomelessness #homeless #homelessness #daytonohio #dayton #ohio #youthshelter #endhomelessness #fighthomelessness #community #communityresource #youth #daytonyouth

We are so honored to be the nonprofit the Panhellenic Council at the University of Dayton supported through Greek Week 2024. Your support was greatly appreciated and has made a huge difference for homeless youth in the Miami Valley. Thank you!
As my time as Greek Spirit Chair on Panhellenic Council at the University of Dayton comes to an end, I reflect on the tremendous work that was put into making Greek Week a huge success! I oversaw the planning, organization, and execution of the week long cross council philanthropic event which focused on strengthening the fraternity and sorority life community and promoting giving back to the community. This year's Greek Week Committee focused on mental health, partnering with the campus counseling center to identify impactful local nonprofits. Choosing to support Daybreak, a Dayton-based organization founded in 1975 that supports at-risk and homeless youth with both immediate and long-term assistance, was a no brainer. Greek Week consisted of several events that were both fun and educational. Our FSL Community: - Raised money through Money Wars - Played an eventful few rounds of Wheel of Fortune - Dunked our favorite community members in a Dunk Tank - Competed in Minute-to-Win It games at our Greek Olympics - Collected various goods to aid Daybreak’s clientbase - Held 7 different REACH Suicide Prevention Trainings, certifying 250 FSL members - Executed a hands-on service learning experience with Daybreak at the facility in Downtown Dayton. - And of course choreographed a dance routine at the end of the week called, “Putting on the Hits." Throughout this week, the FSL community participated in 70 hours of community service, donated more than 12 overflowing medium-sized moving boxes of goods, and raised a total of $51,778.25. I collaborated with my co-chairs on the Greek Week Committee, Ian Hemphill, to plan an awesome week for a great cause! Thank you to Evan W. Englander, M.A., Robert Nolan and, Cornealious Cook, MS.Ed for helping with the facilitation of this event and providing unwavering support. Last but not least, a big thanks to Daybreak Inc. for making this all possible! It was such an honor to work with Daybreak and make a difference in the Dayton community. #dayton #fsl #philanthropy #community #collaboration

The holiday season is here and laundry is at the top of our list! If you or someone you know has a new or like new laundry basket (or several) please consider donating them to Daybreak youth. Laundry baskets may seem like simple items, but they are an essential that helps in more way than one: carrying laundry, storing items, and as an extra special way to deliver gifts. Drop off anytime at our 605 location or if you have a large number of baskets, coordinate with us here so we can help. Thank you! ♥️🏡 #homeless #homelesslivesmatter #homelessyouth #youthhomelessness #endhomelessness #fighthomelessness #homelessshelter #youthshelter #dayton #daytonohio #daytonyouth #holiday #holidayseason #gift #giftgiving #giving
