🚀On December 11–12, the Twin4Twin EU Project held its 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 in Zaragoza, Spain, graciously hosted by ITA · Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón. 🇪🇸 The meeting brought together all project partners, both in person and online, to present #progress, exchange ideas, and plan next steps. 🔍💡 A key focus was on preparations for the upcoming 𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀, which will mark a major #milestone for the project! 🎯✨ 🌟 ITA also hosted a delightful social dinner, strengthening connections among the partners. On the second day, participants enjoyed an inspiring tour of ITA’s laboratories. 🏭🔬 🙌 A big thank you to ITA for their exceptional hospitality and support in making this meeting a success! 🔵 Data augmentation with advanced autoencoders & transformer-based tools in tabular data Our challenge: In the #asphalt use-case implemented in s-X-AIPI, there was a scarcity of available lab test data, making it challenging to effectively train #AI models for complex scenarios such as asphalt condition analysis. How we overcame this: We applied data augmentation with #generativeai using 3 different methods belonging to the #autoencoder family to: → Tackle imbalanced datasets → Enrich training #data → Improve model robustness → Achieve high predictive performance Curious to learn which method was the most effective? The StreamSTEP EU Project just kicked off! Antonis Vlasopoulos and Valia Iliopoulou from our #PM team were there 🇳🇴 to introduce CORE to the consortium. StreamSTEP is a #HorizonEU project wich aims to optimise Sustainable #ThermalEnergy Systems & prototype pioneering #tech in carbon-heavy #process industries. The CORE Innovation Centre dream team will create the #DataArchitecture & #middleware for the project's digital infrastructure, integrating smart #IIoT components. We're also working on developing Hybrid Digital Twins (#HDTs) & expanding the end users' Energy Management System (#EMS), using advanced #ML tools. We will also be handling #communication for the project & leading on #exploitation. This week marked the official launch of the DEXPLORE EU Project! DEXPLORE tackles one of Europe’s urgent challenges: developing sustainable, cost-effective methods to explore and secure critical #RawMaterials. 🔵 CORE IC will be leading the development of DEXPLORE’s Visualization and Interaction platform. During the online Kick off Meeting, our team highlighted the capabilities of CORE IC on #middleware infrastructure and the advanced #UI tools which will be deployed and further enhanced through the project. 🚀 Kick-Off Meeting of the DEXPLORE Project! 🛰️ 🔎🌍 The consortium partners were thrilled yesterday to officially launch DEXPLORE – a transformative initiative to revolutionize #MineralExploration across #Europe. By targeting deep-seated #CriticalRawMaterials crucial for economic decarbonization, we aim to boost discovery rates through a blend of cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches. 🤖⚒️ DEXPLORE leverages optical #UAV-assisted in-field mineral detection, advanced #EarthObservation methods, and novel deep-land #geophysics techniques to explore down to 600m and propose updated ore models. During the A.SPIRE conference in Brussels this week, Valia presented the METAWAVE Project concept & received the audience award for top initiative transforming the 🇪🇺 #ProcessIndustry. Her contribution to the project has been significant, & she was responsible for co-authoring the successful #Metawave proposal!
