One of Twin4Twin EU Project's focus areas is digital twins. But...what exactly are they?🤔 A #digitaltwin is simply a #virtual copy of a physical object, system or process, used to simulate real world scenarios. The most commonly used industrial applications are digital twins of physical objects. 💾 The object is fitted with #sensors, which collect different types of #data, for example from sensors or #performace data. 👩💻 Engineers can then use this data to run #simulations on this digital twin, predicting future behavior of the object, or “physical twin” in the physical world. 🔮 These technologies can help predict failures of depreciating #assets, and can be applied to a wide range of industries, including #manufacturing & construction.
