About us
Our vision for Mablethorpe and Skegness is that they will make their distinctive contributions to a Connected Coast, renewed and refreshed as settlements through a programme which: diversifies their economies, builds their skills base and establishes them as national test beds for future living and natural resource management. They will become places where positive ageing, a cutting edge approach to tourism and innovation around energy and water management turn current weaknesses into nationally significant strengths.

East Lindsey District Council has ensured Government money stays invested in Alford after it has had to pause its regeneration scheme for the site of Alford Windmill. At Full Council today (December 11, 2024), Councillors voted to support the reallocation of Government money to Alford Manor House, ensuring the funds remain in the town to benefit the community. The Council had got the site of Alford Windmill scheme to such a good redevelopment position that members unanimously voted to approve planning consent in October. The project remains ready to go should the owners of the windmill, Lincolnshire County Council, be in a position to renovate it in the future, demonstrating East Lindsey District Council's ongoing commitment to the Alford Windmill project. Cllr Graham Marsh, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture at East Lindsey District Council, said: "This was a brilliant project and we got it as far as we could possibly go. We have had little choice but to pause the scheme. "Alford Windmill is a historic attraction with great local importance for the town and wider East Lindsey. It was the anchor for this whole project and without a working mill - and a commitment to restore it from the owners - the whole site has no main attraction. "This project is multi-faceted and required the commitment of partners. At the time of the funding bid, the owners of the mill had committed to match funding work to ensure the windmill structure, cap and sails were brought back into working order. "East Lindsey is still committed to Alford Windmill and will continue to look for ways to complete the project." Read more here: https://loom.ly/6p6UHWU ALFORD MANOR HOUSE LIMITED Connected Coast

The Station Leisure and Learning Centre is making a big impact in Mablethorpe! Find out more about this fantastic success story here 👇
Outstanding results in Mablethorpe! The new, £13.5m Station Leisure & Learning Centre has made an incredible impact since opening in July for East Lindsey District Council. 📈 It currently boasts over 1,300 fitness memberships, surpassing both the previous venue's numbers and those predicted in the business case. 🏊 It is averaging over 5,000 swims per month, and inclusive swimming sessions have been introduced. ☕ The centre's café has facilitated the expansion of a local catering provider, increasing local employment and adding to the quality of customer experience at the centre. This is only the tip of the iceberg, too! Next steps in the work at Spilsby Sessions House 👇
🛠 Conservation Structural Engineers at Spilsby Sessions House 🛠 Ed Morton and Daniel Budge from The Morton Partnership Ltd visited Spilsby Sessions House for a follow up check on the structural components of the Grade II listed building. For this vital work, they were also accompanied by a timber analyst specialist. Messenger Construction Ltd, Messenger BCR Group Ltd have been working hard on opening up works to access hard-to -reach areas like the roof spaces. This has enabled Ed and Dan to inspect the timber trusses such as the king post truss bearings which are found in the main part of the roof structure. This is very important to determine the state of the trusses as they are the structures which support the building. They need to inspect these areas to identify any issues and then begin to work out any solutions which will need to be applied. This important work is happening now as part of the risk mitigation, ready for when the main regeneration project works begin. Ed and Dan’s important work helps ensure as many of the historic elements of the building can be preserved for the future. The work is part of the Lincolnshire Wolds Cultural and Heritage programme which was awarded £8 million of Government funding for regeneration projects at Spilsby Sessions House Ltd, ALFORD MANOR HOUSE LIMITED and ALFORD WINDMILL LTD. The works happening at Spilsby Sessions House will give us a more detailed information and knowledge on the Grade II listed building which will help the project team when it comes to submitting a planning application.
