🏛 ✨ New Blog post alert! 🗒 At CivCheck, we work closely with our city partners to help them decide when to use Augmented Intelligence versus Artificial Intelligence for their specific needs. Our goal is to ensure that every solution delivers real value and efficiency while maintaining human accountability and oversight. This balance is at the heart of what we do, and it’s critical to using AI responsibly in public services. Check out our CEO’s latest thoughts on this important distinction!
A core part of responsible AI deployment is thinking carefully about when AI should make a decision vs. when AI should help a human being make a decision. I’ve just written an article diving into why this distinction is crucial and how it shapes our work at CivCheck. https://lnkd.in/evJfNhtD For anyone working with AI in public services, I believe understanding this balance is essential to using the technology effectively and ethically. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! #AI #GovTech #ResponsibleAI #EthicalAI #PublicSector

Last week our CEO had the opportunity to speak at the DenAI Summit on the same stage as other incredible AI visionaries like Reid Hoffman, Eric Schmidt, and Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins. In fact, her presentation was referenced and quoted by The Colorado Sun twice! (see comments for more details)
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to present CivCheck at the first city-led AI summit, DenAI Summit! 🎤 ✨ At the summit, I got to hear from amazing speakers—from startup founders to billion-dollar tech company CEOs and thought leaders. I also reconnected with folks from the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance and met incredible members of Mike Johnston's team, along with other public-sector leaders across #Colorado. Here are 3 key takeaways from the event: 1️⃣ Generative AI is reshaping user interfaces and experiences. 💡 💻 What does this mean for government? We’ve all had to learn new "languages" to interact with tech in our daily lives (remember when cellphones had more buttons?). With AI-powered interfaces that both simplify and humanize technology, the burden on citizens to adapt decreases, making digital city services more accessible to everyone. 2️⃣ Remember how Excel transformed accounting? 🔢 AI can do the same for the tedious parts of our jobs. Instead of replacing human functions, AI should enhance and transform them. Shameless plug: At CivCheck, this is exactly what we do! We critically assess when AI should make decisions vs. when it should empower humans to make decisions—transforming plan review into a collaborative, effective private-public partnership. 3️⃣ Cities can inspire innovators by providing mentorship. 🚀 🤝 The best way to attract cutting-edge talent & innovative partners to solve public sector challenges? Give them a mentor in the city who can guide them—telling them what works, what doesn’t, and where they can improve. (For those who are CivCheck's city-mentors and supporters - you know who you are - a heartfelt thank you ❤️ ) Elton Lossner Roger Lin Sekhar Paladugu Tyler Svitak Hayfa Suma Nallapati Evelyn Chandra Lucy Conklin Robert Matthew Katie Julia Richman Photo creds to: Elton and Lucy - thank you so much!
