With the festive season in full swing, we’re celebrating the power of connection and the importance of community. This year, we’ve partnered with Single Homeless Project to donate 200 Christmas meals and handwritten cards from our team. It’s a small gesture, but one we hope brings comfort and joy to those who need it most. If you would like to make a difference too, you can buy meals here: https://bit.ly/4gul38r Thank you to everyone who’s been part of our journey this year. Your support inspires us to keep pushing toward a more sustainable future. Here’s to more progress together in the year ahead. Merry Christmas, from all of us at #BywaterProperties. 🎄

A huge thank you to Mark Millar at Fix Radio for giving our Head of Sustainability, Joe Jack Williams, the platform to share how we’re shaping the future of net-zero buildings and the value they bring to communities. Achieving net-zero carbon homes isn’t only about policies or blueprints - it’s about collaboration at every level, from the architect’s desk to the construction site. Listen in to their conversation here 🎧 https://lnkd.in/emh3dadt
Really great to catch up with Mark Millar and chat about net zero carbon homes and what it actually means to me and Bywater Properties on his radio show. I spend a lot of time talking, often to other consultants, architects, developers, etc. in the built environment. But I think I really miss the people who are actually onsite, building the future we all need, creating the details we draw and analyse. When we start to think about an equitable transition, we need to bring everyone along, and show how they all have a part to play in mitigating climate change. And that's why going on Fixradio and being able to share thoughts with new crowds is something I'm really pleased to be able to do. Thanks Fix Radio for inviting me on! https://lnkd.in/erzRUhmq

Paradise is taking shape! Thank you to Bywater Properties for sharing this fantastic drone footage, which captures the last progress on site at #Paradise 🎥 Paradise is a full-scale exposed timber project which will provide six-storeys and 63,250 sq ft of visionary new commercial space in London, aiming to set a new standard for sustainable workspace. It aims to transform a neglected and disused site into a forward-looking sustainable office space; a test case for promoting awareness around the carbon impact of buildings. The new structural timber office building will feature a flexible, open-plan layout and aims to catalyse job creation in Lambeth, attracting creative industries to this part of London. Paradise has been designed to create happy and healthy workspaces, utilising the biophilic and low carbon benefits of structural timber. B&K Structures were appointed to design and deliver the structural timber elements, including cross laminated timber slabs and V shaped glulam feature columns. 🚧 Paradise is taking shape… From concept to construction, we’re proud to see Paradise in Lambeth come to life. It’s a bold step toward low-carbon innovation. We're minimising the impact of construction, saving 1,993 tonnes of embodied carbon over five years compared to the RIBA 2030 target. The development produces only 413kg CO2e per square metre, compared with the current industry best practice of 1000kg CO2e per square metre. 🎥 Watch as drone footage captures our progress. https://paradise11.co.uk/ Gilbert-Ash, Quartz Project Services, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBStudios), B&K Hybrid Solutions, Webb Yates Engineers, CHP, and OFR Consultants.

🔊 Sound on to hear how young designers brought their vision to life. This project wasn’t just about design - it was about showing what’s possible when education meets purpose. We’re not here to just create spaces; we want to inspire people to see the built environment differently and rethink their role in shaping it. Hearing students say, “Architecture is cool because it gives you a new experience,” reminds us why these projects matter. What would you have created if you’d had the right tools and support growing up? In partnership with MATT+FIONA and 33 brilliant students from Oasis Academy South Bank, we co-created a ceramic façade for Paradise, our Lambeth development. #EmpoweringDesign #EducationThroughCreativity #ParadiseProject #BywaterProperties #PurposeDrive

CREtech London is back for 2025 with a new venue, a new format and a much broader scope… Welcome to Europe 2030: Shaping the Future of the Built World. Speakers including British Land’s Simon Carter, Mayor of London’s Justine Simons OBE, Bywater Properties Patrick O'Gorman, Malmö City Architect Finn Williams, WilkinsonEyre director Yasmin Al-Ani Spence, Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava ‘s Petra Marko, Peter Murray OBE and British Land’s joint head of Canada Water Roger Madelin will be joined by many more for this one-day event on July 1st at Convene’s 200 Aldersgate venue in St Paul’s. How the real estate sector builds, designs, adapts for modern work, innovates and prepares for the future is evolving fast against the backdrop of unprecedented market forces. This has resulted in huge pressures not only to survive and thrive, but to create a built world that will stand the test of time. CREtech’s Europe 2030 event will gather world-class speakers leading the way in Europe’s top real estate companies, city governments and architecture practices to find out how they are preparing and futureproofing. The programme will kick off with a powerhouse of a CEO panel where industry leaders from across Europe will come together to discuss their strategies, ambitions and concerns for the next five years. From there we will meet tthe designers creating human-centred spaces and places to support a modern approach to work and the urban legends driving change in Europe’s most ambitious cities. We will also be delving into the innovation and AI strategies actually being successfully deployed within the sector (rather than just being talked about and around). In short, this is where you need to be to get a sense of where the sector is - and indeed needs to get to - in the run up to 2030. The event is open for registrations now using the link below with a festive Super Early Bird offer running until the end of the year. But move fast…tickets are limited to 400 and once they are gone, they’re gone. Huge thanks to our partner ING Media and here’s to 2025…and the next five years.
