Burke recently showcased our Neurologic Music Therapy Program at The Kensington White Plains. Dr. Jennie Valles, along with SCI Clinical Team Leader Liz Rider, MHA, MOT, OTR/L, and Neurologic Music Therapist Isabelle Lu, MT-BC, discussed NMT in their presentation entitled, The Transformative Role of Music Therapy in Neurological Recovery. We congratulate Mooyeon Oh-Park, MD, MHCM, who recently received the AAPM&R Distinguished Public Service, Health Equity and Advocacy Award. This award honors individuals who, in the course of public service activities, have made significant contributions to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and/or vulnerable populations at risk for disabilities. Dr. Oh-Park received this award during the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) Annual Assembly held last month in San Diego, California.

Earlier this month, Lauryn Solomon, Pharm.D., BCGP, in collaboration with Dr. Mooyeon Oh-Park, Dr. Malav Shah, and Maeve Lopreiato Terezian, PhD, RN, CPHQ, presented at the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASCP) Annual Meeting in Denver Colorado. Their poster presentation identified Burke’s Age Friendly Health System (AFHS) Initiative as it relates to Medication. Burke is the only free-standing rehabilitation hospital New York State with the Level 2 Age-Friendly Healthcare designation.
