Established in 1989, the Asian American Federation (AAF) is the strongest leadership organization in New York serving 1.5 million Asian New Yorkers. Our mission is to raise the influence and well-being of the pan-Asian American community through research, policy advocacy, public awareness, and nonprofit support. We do this work in partnership with 70 member agencies that are deeply rooted in our communities and provide social services to those in need. Asians are the fastest growing community in our City and State, and we advocate to ensure that our community is visible, our voices are heard, and our stories are told. We offer programs focused on community safety, mental health, economic empowerment, immigrant integration, and civic engagement to help connect Asian New Yorkers with the resources they need.

As our national executive search to identify AAF's next executive director continues, Deputy Directors Joo Han and Andrew Sta. Ana will step in as interim co-executive directors. They will provide continued stability and expertise as the organization transitions to its next phase of leadership and continues Executive Director Jo-Ann Yoo's legacy of service to not only Asian New Yorkers but also New Yorkers of color everywhere. Festival and Hope Against Hate Campaign. In 2011, Jo-Ann Yoo joined AAF and was tasked with the challenge of steadying our organization during a difficult time. Back then, we were a tiny nonprofit with a small budget and even smaller staff. But Jo-Ann saw in AAF the potential to be a voice for Asian New Yorkers who didn’t have a seat at the table and to be a champion of our communities’ diverse and growing needs. Thirteen years later, Jo-Ann’s visionary leadership has forged connections, built alliances, and transformed AAF into an organization that serves the 2.1 million Asian Americans who call New York home. We would not be the organization we are today without her. Last Friday we held a very special farewell party for Jo-Ann, who will be stepping down from her role as Executive Director at the end of this month. There were laughter, tears, and overwhelming gratitude and love for Jo-Ann—a dynamic leader, fierce advocate, compassionate mentor, and beloved friend. Wherever she goes next, we know she’ll continue to be a force of nature, and a force for good. Thank you, Jo-Ann! We will miss you! ❤️❤️❤️

Together, we picked up trash, cleaned streets, and supported the neighborhood’s vibrant small business community. HR&A sponsored cleaning supplies and a post-cleanup lunch, making it a great opportunity to connect with local organizers and connect with the Astoria community. The Asian American Federation (AAF) seeks a Grants & Contracts Manager in New York City. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing AAF’s contracts with city & state agencies as well as grant awards from private funders. You’ll also ensure the execution of and the compliance requirements associated with city & state contracts and foundation & corporate grant awards. You’ll have one direct report.
