🌟 We are thrilled to announce that AAFE has been recognized as a 2024 Goldman Sachs Community Development Champion as part of the #gsequitybuildersinitiative! This funding from Goldman Sachs crucially supports our ability to address 3 major community needs: Affordable Housing, Access to Social Services, and Economic Opportunity. Thanks to this support, we will: - Build 70 affordable cooperative housing units in Chelsea and the East Village. - Help 20 Bay Ridge households who were defrauded regain homeownership. - Offer 15 home repair loans, providing critical housing stability for families. - Provide homeownership counseling to 75 clients through AAFE’s Community Development Fund. Additionally, we will continue serving 35,000 tenants and community members annually with anti-displacement services, financial assistance, tenant education, disaster recovery, and cultural events. AAFE’s affiliate Renaissance will also expand support for 500 small businesses each year. This grant empowers us to make a real difference in the lives of thousands of individuals and families.
