Essential telehealth flexibilities hang in the balance, as the year-end deadline to extend access to needed virtual care services is set to expire. We’re counting on our many telehealth champions in Washington to prioritize telehealth extensions in order to prevent countless Americans from abruptly losing access to needed care at midnight on December 31. If access to telehealth is allowed to lapse, even for a short time, patient care could be impacted. “From commercial coverage to Medicare coverage to innovative, forward-leaning programs at the cutting edge, they all end on January 1. There would be not a congressional district in the country, not a county in the country, that would not have negative consequences for its citizens,” said our own Kyle Zebley in a Healthcare Dive article. Let’s ensure that access to telehealth is not allowed to lapse. Who’s with us?! Contact your representatives in Congress today! Telehealth is an essential part of healthcare delivery – and has been upheld as a bipartisan issue, with support from both political parties and across two presidential administrations. But telehealth is now in jeopardy due to political forces threatening to stop a vital year-end funding package that includes multi-year extensions to vital flexibilities that would allow for uninterrupted access to needed virtual care services. Countless Americans rely on telehealth for their care yet, without swift action, access to virtual care programs could expire in mere days. #Telehealth #HealthcareAccess President-elect Trump enacted these flexibilities during his first administration, and we are confident that his incoming administration will show the same support for extending essential telehealth services for the American people. Multi-year extensions of critical telehealth flexibilities included in the Continuing Resolution unveiled just days ago are now in jeopardy due to broader political dynamics. Millions of Americans and our healthcare clinician workforce are counting on swift and appropriate action to extend access to telehealth services and virtual care programs set to expire on January 1, 2025. #Telehealth #HealthcareAccess Make your voice heard! Telehealth is not a “stopgap” measure, it’s an essential part of healthcare delivery. It would be deeply concerning for Congress to allow telehealth flexibilities included in the current CR bill to be arbitrarily discarded. Call or write your members of Congress right now and urge them – as we are – to pass these essential telehealth extensions before year-end! https://lnkd.in/ePTtFm9k House Republican Conference, U.S. House of Representatives, United States Senate

Big wins for telehealth today! Congress unveiled their legislative end-of-year Continuing Resolution this afternoon that includes muti-year extensions for critically needed telehealth flexibilities. It’s essential that these extensions be kept intact as the draft legislation goes to vote in both houses of Congress, then on to President Biden to sign into law, all before December 31. The could be a historic week for telehealth! Read our joint statement with our colleagues at ATA Action: https://lnkd.in/ePTtFm9k
