About us

3CDC is a private, nonprofit, full-service real estate development and finance corporation focused on revitalizing Cincinnati’s urban core in partnership with the City of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati corporate community, specifically focused on the Central Business District and in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. 3CDC invests in and develops residential, office and retail properties, parking facilities and civic spaces and manages several major real estate assets and provides event production services for four major civic spaces. To date, 3CDC and its partners have invested $1.6 billion in downtown and the adjacent neighborhood of Over-the-Rhine. This investment has yielded 193 buildings restored, 49 new buildings constructed, 16 acres of restored civic space (including Fountain Square, Washington Park, and Ziegler Park), two civic buildings restored (Music Hall and Memorial Hall), as well as the creation of 2,074 residential units, 156 hotel rooms, three comprehensive residential and service facilities for the homeless with 320 beds, 1,303,184 SF of commercial space, and 5,089 parking spaces.

    Reflecting back to July, we were thrilled to attend the construction kickoff at the Duke Energy Convention Center. Project partners and elected officials from across the region and state, including the City of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, Ohio Department of Development, 3CDC, Visit Cincy, and more, celebrated the start of this transformational project which will modernize the center for increased flexibility and functionality and add new amenities designed to create truly unique and memorable experiences for convention visitors. #AYearInDevelopment

Explore our 20 Year Retrospective and learn about what’s next for 3CDC at the link in our bio, including a recent feature in the The Cincinnati Enquirer and insights from President & CEO Steve Leeper on the That’s So Cincinnati podcast. 3CDC and Portman Holdings recently unveiled renderings and a timeline for the new Convention Headquarters Hotel, set to transform the surface parking lot at Fifth and Plum streets. Preliminary site work begins this month, with groundbreaking scheduled for Q2 of the new year. The Fountain District was named “Best New District” by Cincinnati Magazine, recognized for its vibrant arts scene, dining, hotels, and apartments. Joe Burrow look-alikes battled it out in our contest Fountain Square with Kentucky native Jade Doellman taking the crown. The fun continued at altafiber’s New Year’s Eve Blast, where crowds enjoyed ice skating, music, and a fireworks show to ring in 2025. The rink stays open through Feb. 17! The season wrapped up Washington Park's Nutcracker-inspired décor and events like Winter Wonderland with Cincinnati Ballet & Jingle Jams. Up next: Mittenfest returns Feb. 15-16!     Ring in the New Year the right way at altafiber's New Years Eve Blast at @myfountainsquare! 🎊 From 6p-1a, party on the plaza or celebrate on ice! Enjoy a live DJ and DOUBLE the firework fun! The kids countdown firework show will kick off at 8p, and the Midnight Countdown firework show will begin at 12a.
