I have always been very hards-on with operations; as I believe that the way to lead is to be able to do the very things the team does. It’s that alpha leadership that I follow, where qualities such as confidence, decisiveness, charisma and visionary thinking are all at play. Then again, strategies should never be left behind. And if my focus on strategy formulation and implementation is questioned, it should be said that certain level of management should be on top of it, and some operations tasks can be delegated to the next in line. A healthy alpha leader balances every aspect. Leading with empathy and being decisive with adaptability and inclusivity. All members should contribute and collaborate in a whole participatory way.
