If I’m having trouble meeting project deadlines in facility maintenance, I would first look at the timeline to see what’s causing the delays. I’d focus on the most important tasks and share the workload with my team. Having regular check-ins helps keep everyone on track. I’d also communicate openly with stakeholders about any challenges we face and work together to find solutions. This way, we can manage expectations and ensure the project gets done on time.

To meet and stay on track with project deadlines, I have over the years used four(4) simple methods to finish ahead of schedule. 1. It all starts with the trades and or contractor(s) contract, which should include a penalty for every day the project is late. (I have found that when the project is behind schedule, the contractor would prefer his employees work overtime and weekends instead of paying the daily penalty of being late.) 2. Have daily meetings before work starts to measure progress. 3. Communicate with the team that's delaying the project and offer solutions. 4. Display the project schedule and deadlines, so that all trades can see which area is behind schedule.
