When we talk about facility cleaning. It's all about processes. First of all schedule the cleaning time as per your resource timings. Second document all the cleaning process by displaying the cleaning sheets and check those sheets on an hourly basis. Third train your cleaning staff about the process and purpose.

I always say a workspace can be clean if 3 topics are right: 1- Design that allows cleaning 2- Good maintenance/cleaning service 3- Right people behavior So, if people don't use the space with a minimum care it will be very difficult to have a clean space. From FM you can send emails, hang posters with suggestions, etc. If it doesn't work, then HR can take control and explain office users that a bad behavior can be sanctioned. If people behave bad and your response is too improve the service level, then they can think there's no problem and you are assuming their bad behavior as your fault. Some times it's better to leave the problem to be seen to get the attention of users and Directors.

Assured the staff feels like owning the place . From our experience we noticed that cleaning staff are not satisfied or familiar with their job to the required level. In this case and after considering the training and all basic requirements we have to use a kind of management that increases the morale of workers and generate appreciation points. Or an integrated excellence programme to be considered in the budget. On the other hand make sure that all quality tools are strictly available and monitored. In this way we could create a fair management system and set up a higher expectations.
